Please forgive me if this has been addressed before as there's probably a good chance it has been.

I wanted to put a new distortion pedal into the M13's chain between columns 1 and 2. That's easy enough... BUT... Is there a way to do that, while still having my other pedals go into the M13 before column 1?

Right now I have it set up to go:

Guitar -> EQ -> Wah -> M13 1 and 2 -> Amp -> M13 3 and 4

I'd like to have it go:

Guitar -> EQ -> Wah -> M13 1 -> DISTORTION PEDAL -> M13 2 -> Amp -> M13 3 and 4

Or I can have M13 column 1 and 2 go into the distortion pedal if that's the only way it's doable.

Is this possible? Can anyone tell me how?

You can assign all 12 switches to delays if you'd like, and have 4 on at once. It can make for some really cool sounds. Especially if you combine it with the looper and layer guitar parts on top or eachother and use different combinations of delays on each pass of the loop.

There's even a factory pre-set scene on which all 12 switches are assigned delay effects.

You can assign any effect to any switch. So all of the scenarios that you've listed are possible. As many of any colour as you'd like, in any order.

I've never played one of the HD pedals, but the M13 is fantastic. I THINK (but am not sure, so don't necissairly take my word for it) that the HD is more for amp modeling, while the M13 is for effect pedal modeling.

Is there a way to assign the global noise gate to a specific column(s) of effects in the pedal? I hate to waste a space on my M13 for a noise gate pedal, and it means clicking on two buttons at once when I want to go high gain. I keep all of my distortion effects in the 2nd column of the pedal and it would be real cool if I could just asssign the noise gate to click in when I select a distortion effect so that it doesn't suck my clean tone by being on all the time.

The M13 does have a lot of EQs in it. Has anyone tried to make an Acoustic Simulator sound with the EQ? I'd imagine it's possible. If anyone has, what are your settings?

I recently saw a picture of John Petrucci's pedal board and saw that he has a Staples Easy Button on his board. I have some empty space on mine where I put a hockey puck of my favourite team. Just wondered what kind of stuff, if any, the rest of you have on your boards that serve no real function other than to make your board more personal.

You need to go into your settings for each folder and assign it to the rows you want. I use the M13 so I'm not exactly sure how to do it on the M9, but you need to do a separate setup for each individual scene I think.

When you say you unplugged it and then plugged it back in and it didn't work. My guess would be that because of the auto-save feature, when you unplugged it, your M9 saved the settings without expression pedal, so when you plugged it back in, the M9 was still using settings for no expression pedal. Have a look at the effect you're trying to manipulate with the pedal and see if the settings have those missing pixel marks in them. Those missing pixels are there to indicate the settings for the heel and toe position of the pedal. If there are no missing pixels, then it's probably not set to change with the expression pedal.

Try adding some compression to it too. I like the Tube Comp a lot, but for a rockabilly tone...maybe the Red Comp?
