We need to determine if the issue is a cable, AC strip, pedal or bad power in the space you are using it in. break down the rig and try each component one at a time. This will help you determine what is causing the loop. Also, is everything plugged into the same power strip and a single AC outlet?

Hi,

It could be a bad flash install... Try this:

Hold down the DOWN arrow on the D-Pad while powering the 500 up.

The LCD will read UPDATE FLASH.

Connect it to your computer and reflash the 500.

Also, it could be under powered. Are you using the original power supply?

The first thing I would check is the link between the HD500 and DT50 Have you tried switching out XLR/AES cables? What flash version are you using in the 500? Please respond back directly:

+1 to Zap,

This is one of those usages that is "theoretically" possible but could lead to problems. The best thing to do is to select the 500 as your sound card in Pro Tools and connect your speakers to it. Keep in mind that you can also select it in Windows and make it the primary sound card for your system.

I can honestly say it's possible but I don't know how you would implement it. Then again, I'm definitely no Cubase expert. I would consult appendix B in the HD500 advanced guide and contact Steinberg. They would know far more about this sort of MIDI implentation in Cubase:
