I am almost sure that putting more pressure on it will break it, but what can you do? Like you say, if it's not working it's useless anyway. Cheers for the encouragement.

Thanks for the response, I take onboard what you say about needing a lot of pressure, but when I look at the actual unit in front of me, there just is very little physical switch to be seen. That is what puzzles me. There is a blade which looks as if it might activate some sort of metal pad with a dimple in it below, or be seen by a proximity sensor, but when the rubber feet of the pedal come into contact with the unit's casing, there is still a gap between "blade" and "sensor" of about 4 or 5 mm. This gap has to be taken up by pure "rubber compression" of those little feet for any contact or "proximity" to occur. I really have sweated off this thing and am scared to distort the casing of the unit by jumping on it too hard. Can't see why they would design it to require such pressure. Am I just being a wimp? Could you describe how the switch on your unit looks and works please, so that I can at least rule out my unit having been made without one? I don't have that much warranty left and if it needs to go back to the manufacturer I need to start acting fairly quickly. Any help is much appreciated.

And what is more, I cannot "reflash" the memory because as the tutorial shows, you need to do a factory reset afterwards, with a pedal calibration, which on my unit always jams up since there is no toe switch under the foot pedal on my unit! I am pulling my hair out. Has your device got a toe switch?

POD HD 300 "toe switch"

I have a POD HD 300. In the manuals there is constant reference made to the expression pedal "toe switch", and that it can toggle between modes, which would be great. However, when you look at the physical unit there doesn´t seem to be any switch there, just a metal ridge that comes down on the underside of the pedal but which never makes contact with what looks like some sort of pressure pad inset into the unit below. No matter how hard you stamp on that pedal no toggling occurs. The pedal will break before any contact is ever made. I would like to know if my unit is missing the switch or something, because there is certainly no control effected at the toe stop area of my expression pedal. Except via the computer interface or button editing on the unit, the expression pedal can´t be toggled. Are the physical toe switches only on HD400 and 500 ? (the manual says quite clearly that there should be one on the HD300). Can anyone help? What does your HD300 look like in the toe switch area?

Thanks
