Are you saying we should keep the master record level at around 0 anyway to avoid cliping. I was turning the master all the way up to compensate. Starting to wonder about quality contol on these units. This is the second defective unit I've had. Each unit had different defects. Did the hardware all of a sudden fail. Only hiss buzzing type sound. Found by using another mic and cord that it was the phantom powering. It was not working on either set of the phantom power buttons. I know there was a problem with the second phantom powering but now its both.
