I am having trouble getting my volume levels down and the same. What do I do? I've read the manual and tried but its not working.

every time i save my effects on a certain level it won't stick. I can go to a clean channel or w/e, come back and its back to

being too loud. What am i doing wrong? i am not a technical wizard so please take it easy on me. SSR(Sorry So Retarded)

I apologize if this is redundant, but I can't find the answer anywhere. Here is the goal. I have a pod xt w/fbv floorboard and boss gt-3 effects processor. I am running them through a peavey 5150 head with an effects loop. How do i get separate effects without overlapping?i.e..... I want to use the gt-3 effects but only when I hit the fx loop button on myline6 floorboard taking the podxt out of the mix..Actually I will use an acoustic setting on the pod so the effects on the gt-3 will come through cleanly. What do I put where? I need specifics. Tell me exactly what cable goes into what return/send, input/output jacks etc. Is this even possible? sorry for my retardedness.
