I've tried checking the settings with Spider Edit.

I've turned off all the effects and the reverb too but I can't obtain a dry signal... there's allways a slight reverb.

There is though a good part, because seeing the setting in Spider Edit I've noticed that by default the Noise-Gate was on, with "non-optimum settings" and this was the source for that weird distortion I was hearing. By default the noise-gate has a decay of 0% and if I adjust it to higher values, say 10%, 20%, I can get rid off that distortion al low levels (it make sense ).

Bottom line, I solved the issue with the distortion but the problem with the reverb present all the time still remains.

I've tried the amp in test-mode (power-up while holding down the "TAP"button) and there was no reverb present...

Still waiting for Line6 take on this topic.

Yes.

I've turned the reverb knob all the way off then saved the patch to a bank.

When I've loaded again the saved patch, the reverb was there... as nothing changed.

Hello,

How can I obtain a clean sound (depleted of any effects) from Spider IV 150?

I had turned the effects off (turned the button all the way right then back all the way left).

I've chosen the "Clean Red" channel and set the gain around 9'oclock and saved the patch.

The tone controls were set to 12'oclock, channel-volume to max.

While mutting the strings with my left hand I pick them and instead of a short, "dry" sound I get something which distinctively has a reverb on it.

It's comparable to the sound made by clapping your hands into the corner of an empty concrete room.

It is quite annoying since I get weird distortions when picking the strings softer trying to clean-up the sound.

The distortion doesn't sound too musical, its more like a rattling, very harsh.

I did couple of times a factory-reset then followed the procedure again turning affects off and saving the patch.

No change at all.

It's a bug?

It's a feature ?

What is it?

Hello,

I tried to use the amp in "bypass-mode" by starting the amp while holding down the "Tap" button and I discovered that the master-volume is not functional.

The amp seems to work at nominal power by default and there is no way I can change that by using it's controls.

Is this normal?

Hi Mia,

The four channels each use a different Amp Model, and all come pre-loaded with a factory preset dialed in.

You can only replace the preseted tone with another one for each channel.

There are four channels and you can have only four tones, a tone for each channel.

To replace any preset with your own “snapshot” of all tone and effect knob positions (except Master Volume), press and hold one of the four buttons, "clean", "crunch", "metal" or "insane" for two seconds.

The light on that channel will flash when the save is complete.

Hi Michael,

The problem you have resembles somehow with mine.

I Have a SPIDER IV 150 combo and after couple of weeks it started to hum even when the volume is closed.

I think the issue is with the mains tranformer that after a while becames loos and starts to rattle.

To be sure about that you can try what I did: connect a pair of headphones and don't listen into them, just check if you can hear the hum. By connecting the headphones you will mute the speaker and if you can still hear the hum then it's indeed the mains trafo rattling.

Anyway, if the hum persits you should do what Hugo said, go to an authorized service-center.

Thanks, but my question is about the posibillity of using auto-scroll.

I've saw the answer about SPIDER IV lacking this function, but I'm waiting for an answer from Line6.

My question still remains unanswered by Line6: How can I enable auto-scroll when browsing through the presets?

Hi,

According to this doc http://line6.com/community/docs/DOC-2050 Dingo-Tron is the Musitronics Mu-TronIII.

This is an "envelope-filter" which I understood that it behave like of an auto-wha: when you pick harder the sound changes as you would push the wah pedal (gets more highs).

You can search the web for Musitronics Mu-Tron III.

I hope this helps a bit... I didn't knew about this stuff, now it made me curious
