That may be a tough one. JJF is basically an acoustic guitar mic'd and overdriven through a tape player (a la "Street Fighting Man"). I believe it also was in Open D with a Capo on 2 (?). At least this information may give you a starting point.

The latest Infusion firmware update (2.0) increases the number of effects from 56 to 76, but not the number of presets. Maybe this is what you're thinking of?

Try a factory reset:

Q: How do I perform a factory Reset on the Spider IV series amplifiers?

A: Hold the “A” button as you power the unit on, then press the presets encoder once.

Use of Wah-Wah on Spider IV 75

I have the Line 6 Spider IV 75 and the FBV MkII Express pedal. I've updated the Spider FX Infusion firmware to version 2.0. I can toggle the function of the Express's pedal between Volume and Wah but I don't know how to change type of wah-wah in use. I guess it's easy enough if it's hooked up to the Edit software but there must be a way to do this without having to hook everything up to a computer.

Never mind me, I believe I found it:

Press the Presets knob to enter Edit Mode and use the L/R arrows on the 4-way Nav Disc to access the WAH menu, found between the BOOST and VOL menus. All the Wah Models are available for your choosing from the Model - Select option

No, you don't need a pedal to get the effects to operate. On a properly operating unit it should be easy to test the different effects. Are you getting any sort of response when using the FX knobs?

Just wanted to provide an update: Yes, the Dingo Tron is there. It's not quite where I was expecting it (FX-1 Second Level behind the Auto Wah) but it's there. Still, The Purple X is just ..."different." Thanks for the info, lcurrell. You're right, there's no need to re-install the update.

Hey! Thanks for the reply. I really appreciated it! I won't get a chance with the amp again until tomorrow night but I'll look for the Dingo Tron. And, yes. if that's what the Purple X is suppose to sound like then I highly doubt I'll ever be using it. The idea of an updated comprehensive guide to the effects would be invaluable.

Update 2.0 Installation Question

I was just wondering if it is possible to re-install Update 2.0 over itself without an issue or if the update will reject because it is already installed. Will I have to roll-back to the previous update (1.52) and then re-install 2.0? It appears I have a problem with two of the new effects. The Purple X sounds terrible (more like static then an effect) and I'm unable to find the Mutron III effect at all. I am able to locate and use all of the other effcts in the latest update. I tried a factory re-set but it did not solve the problem. I inquired about this in another discussion but since the question is marked as answered I'm afraid my quesion is getting overlooked.
