I went through the elaborate filters and narrowed it down to this possible part.

http://www.mouser.com/catalog/specsheets/TW-700150.pdf

This is the detail page. It looks wrong there is not a slotted shaft but a solid one. I think it can be ordered with the slotted shaft but who knows? Alpha part number and description : RV122F-20-15F-B10K 10K Linear

Anyone know if this is the right pot?

Volume knob pot spins without stopping on variax 300

Hello this is my problem. I want to find this little pot and install it (my cousin will ; good solderer). I've done a search on this forum and no one has had any other answer than "call Line 6" for a repair.

I have tried to find specific info about this volume pot / potentiometer B10K . I know it is soldered onto the PCB and has 6 contacts. One person answered that this part is easy to find. I'm not finding it easy. I tried a link to http://alphapotentiometers.net/html/pot_selection.html and I emailed them. I mentioned the part needed for the variax 300. They wrote back that I need to order a minimum of 1000 parts. I found another possible source of the part.:http://www.potentiometers.com/seriesS127.cfm .

I'd really hope someone has a simple answer. Is this the right part ? Do you know where I can find the right pot for the volume on the Variax 300/600. It's supposed to be common. I am a guitar player but not a scientist and looking at these sites (links) it is not clear to me what part is right. I hope someone has the knowledge and is willing to share it.

Thanks, Nic
