X3 Live went dead after 3 hours

My X3 Live went dead after only 3 hours of playing with it ( but out of the warranty period, I have many other MFX and Stmp boxes and neglected the X3 for a while)

It has the standard symptoms that many posters here have : The Main LED is totally lit in orange, all lights are on, no sound from the unit, no response to any button, cannot factory reset, cannot connect to the PC.

Many people have reported this as a power supply failure couped with blowing some stuff in the power section of the X3L

I live in Dubai and there is no official repair centre here. It would be too expensive to courier my X3L elsewhere for repairs.

It would be nice of LINE6 to acknowledge this issue and release information on which parts to check/replace. That would help a standard electronics techie to help me without him being specifically trained on the X3L.

No button responds and cannot get into any menu. Looks like all the Line6 Staff normally advice is go to a service centre.

Anyone succesfully got it repaired out of warranty ?
Help, my POD X3L went dead

I have a POD X3 Live that i purchased in mid 2009. I hardly use it at all as I have some other pedals. I suppose i played the X3 Live less than 2 hours since I got it

Yesterday I pulled the X3L out of its box and connected it up. Got some great sounds from it. The suddenly after about half an hour of playing, it froze and no sound came from the Amp. I put it off, pulled out all plugs, waited a minute and put it on again. LED screen has all the little boxes lit and all knobs lit. No other response fropm any controller or switch.

I tried a factory reset by pressing HOME and then putting unit on. No response. I pressed HOME for 10 seconds, no response.

I tried pressing right arrow key and then putting unit on. No response

I connected up to my PC, Ran Line Monkey. Unit not connected errors

I have the Original Line6 Power supply.

Question : What else should I try ?

Problem is that there seems to be no Service Centre in Dubai, looks like I will have to pay a bomb to send the POD somewhere for repairs
