Dude, I had the same problem with my silverstar guitar..I replace the tone pot and the ground wire.All things solved..This is regarding the guitar (if this is a guitar problem)

Well, I find out that the problem was different and easy, but strange :S . I had the input 1 set to guitar, and input 2 to variax.That way the pod don't recognise the variax for the tuner mode and the analog delay .When I turned the input 1 to variax and input 2 to guitar everything went normal for the variax, but not for the guitar... Figure out...

Try to use the UX as your main sound card at all aplications, (movies ,music etc.) and please let as know.If it is working like this, then is definetly a problem with the sofware (podfarm etc.) or with the cable of the guitar, the guitar ,etc.Since the UX is recognised by the monkey, means it is still alive, though.If after this check it is still with no sound , then I run out of ideas.

BTW, try to reinstal all the drivers of the UX at your computer.

Or you can buy a Y cable (a split guitar cable) and use the UX2 with tone A set at input and tone B set to mic.

Check out this one, since you wanna use the HD for effects only. http://line6.com/support/docs/DOC-2522 So it is posible to use it like this (4cm) and use the A/B switch as I saw at your new topic.You can also assigne all the effects of the HD to only one footswitch and by the press of a button turn them off and on.

You need something like this http://www.dv247.com/cables/dcs-pro-3m-phono-phono-spdif-digital-transmission-coaxial-cable--472 and dont forget to change the output from page 5 of the pod HD to s/pdif .
