Hi all, Line6 edit worked fine with Win7 and IE9 and the MidiSport. Problem started when I went to IE10.

Has anyone been able to connect successfully to their Vetta II with IE10 installed on their PC? I had no problems with Win7/IE9, but since IE10 the connection keeps dropping. Still works fine on my old XP laptop but would like to still be able to use my desktop.

Re: yesterday during a recording session a string broke on my variax. could not get the end out, the saddle was removed to get the end out, there is a connection wire in the saddle that will not go back into the hole, no sound from that string.

That wire gets soldered to a board inside the guitar. You may be able to repair if the wire is long enough. Otherwise you will need to replace that pickup. The good news is that Line6 now sells the pickups.

Check to make sure none of the pins at the Guitar and VDI ports are bent. If so you can very carefully with a paper clip straighten them. If you think the cable is bad, you can try a standard network cable. However without the locking ends it will not fit securely, but if it does work then you will need a new cable.

A couple of things you can try. First a new Ethernet cable (it is a standard network cable). Also check to make sure none of the pins where the cable plugs in are bent or stuck down. Lastly open it up and reset all the ribbon cables. Other than those thing there is not much you can do yourself. A service center would be your next step.

Sorry Bill. There are apps to repair the install problems (in the registry) but if used incorrectly they will cause more damage than good.

Unfortunately is sounds like the registry has become corrupt. It most likely can be repaired however poking around in there can cause more damage. You might have to bring the PC to repair shop. Do the rest of the programs you use work correctly?
