Thanks. This still makes no sense and is unfair, as the separately purchased model packs shouldn't be tied to the Studio GX license. They should be able to run under Pod Farm Free.

What exactly are the "PC fixes related to authorization" that this update addresses? Will I now be able to use separately purchased model packs without having to plug my Studio GX into the computer? Thanks!

I haven't installed 2.5.2 yet. If I am reading your response correctly, though, does this mean that model packs purchased independently of the device (for example, I have the Studio GX, but purchased the triple model pack separately) can now be used on the authorized computer WITHOUT the device plugged in?

I agree - for people (such as me) who have purchased Pod Farm 2 as part of a Line 6 device package, you should at least be permitted to use Pod Farm 2 on one computer without the device attached so that you can separately process dry tracks. Two computers would be reasonable and is fairly standard in the business software world, at least (e.g., Microsoft, Snag-It, Adobe, etc.). At a bare minimum, it seems disingenous and completely contrary to the My Account and website language to not permit separately purchased model packs to be used on a licensed computer without the device attached.

Does this mean that the model packs I have purchased also will not work in Pod Farm without the GX connected? The website specifically says that the additional purchases such as the model packs will be available on all authorized devices:

I have separately paid for the license to use those model packs, and my computer is an authorized device. Isn't there a way for those models to appear in Pod Farm without the GX attached? If not, what am I not understanding in the website language here? Maybe the website language should be revised if there is no way to actually use your separately purchased add-ons on all authorized devices, as it actually says.

How were you able to get the modelpacks to show up in PF 2.5 without the GX attached? Every time I start PF 2.5 without the GX, I only see the three amps that operate in trial mode. Any help you can give me would be appreciated!

But I purchased the device, and as long as I own the device I own its license as well. I would understand and agree with your rationale if there wasn't the ability, as just announced, to authorize up to 4 devices for a single license. By authorizing a limited number of devices for each license owner, and not simply allowing a user to freely distribute the PF VST to his/her friends, the connection to the original authorized device (such as the GX) is maintained, albeit expanded to allow the authorized user some flexibility (in other words, expanded from the original hardware to up to 4 devices, including computers). IMHO, the software should be allowed to be used separately from the device for at least up to two computers (doesn't have to be 4) - Native Instruments does it this way, and even Microsoft permits Office to be installed on up to 2 computers - both of these companies seem to have a thriving business, and certainly no one could argue that Microsoft doesn't care about piracy. There is always going to be software piracy, but assuming that all of your customers are criminals isn't respectful and, as this debacle appears to show, often causes more harm than good.

It is now working with my GX plugged in, but I cannot get anything more than the trial version on the VST without the GX plugged in - not even the model packs that I purchased separately. The website states that the model packs should be available for use on any "authorized devices", which includes my two laptops.
