Re: POD HD500 reboot loop with no sound problem easy fix

Thanks for that fix mate. I have just been using my HD500 and it went into this startup loop rendering it unusable. I would never have thought of pressing that button on power up. I assumed it was a dicky power supply. I'm using a mac so I'm guessing the operating system is nothing to do with the problem since you're on a PC.

Re: RE: Audio dropouts when changing HD500 patches anyone?

Oh bugger. That does rather ruin the loop for me. I understand the unit muting its sound briefly as far as the patches are concerned but muting the whole soundcard section has got to be a problem for anyone playing live along to backing tracks. Everytime they change patches the whole track will hiccup. Is there any chance that this may be sorted or it that just how it is?

Many thanks

B

Audio dropouts when changing HD500 patches anyone?

Hi there. Is it just me or is anyone else getting dropouts when using the onboard looper or when using a DAW?

Try this:

Set up a droney sort of loop then change patches while it's running. I get a brief drop out of audio. The same thing happens when I use Logic. Whatever music is playing drops out when I switch patches on my HD500.

Cheers

B

PS3 pedal equivalent

Just got my HD500 a few days ago and it's excellent. Like my M13 though there is no way to feed pitch shifting back into itself like you can with the old Boss PS2/3 pedals. It seems a curious omission. I suggested it on the M13 forum but the guy seemed to think you can achieve the same effect with a pitch shifter followed by a delay. The difference is that there is no feedback provision with this configuration. Delayed pitch shift with feedback can produce awesome new sounds and I miss this feature.

Anyone else agree?

Peace

B

Yeah, the thing is, with the M13 pitch glide, you cant pitch shift just the delay, the original and the delay both get pitch shifted. Pitch shifted delay with regeneration is a cool effect for organ drone effects too. I'm sure it would be a useful addition to the wonderful range of M13 effects. Boss used to do a 1/2 rack pitch shifter delay with reverse echo and regen in the late 80's or early 90's - I've forgotten what the model number was now but it was way cool..
