Amp Farm 2.0 and Toneport - Line 6 should do the right thing...

I'm a big Line6 fan and supporter. But, I have to say that being an original Toneport Ux2 owner whom paid several hundreds of dollars years ago for this device I'm calling out Line6 for unfair business practices.

It seems that Line6 has re-packaged the Toneport into the POD Studio and now offers a bunch of extras with the purchase that includes Amp farm 2.0.

Now, denying original Toneport owners the free upgrade to Amp Farm 2.0 is a classic case of stepping over quarters to pick up dimes.

In essence, Line6 is punishing their early-adopters customers by denying their loyal install base the AMP Farm 2.0 upgrade which they now give away for free with their new Pod studio which sells for $149.

This makes no sense.

I think Line6 needs to do the right thing and be consistent and offer Amp Farm 2.0 to registered Toneport owners.

I think anyone looking at the evolution of this product line (Toneport to Pod Studio) and how it was rolled out with accompanying software will agree it is not consistent and lacks any logic. Customers who look up the tech specs and try to compare specs are shaking their heads and saying there is no difference between the Toneport and Pod Studio. The confusion is rooted in that customers usually expect significant hardware upgrades when a product evolves to the next generation. This does not happen with the transistion from Toneport to Pod Studio.

In addition, the price went down plus the Pod Studio is bundled with Amp Farm 2, Reason and other software not originally offered with original Toneport owners. THis is backwards.

I hope Line6 considers looking honestly into this situation and considers normalizing the product line software oferrings for Toneport owners..
