So channel-wise shouldn't be a problem.

Hi Ziggy Zipgun,

i'm currently using a POD HD 500 with an Saffire Pro 24 DSP connected via XLR out to line in( processed signal) and S/PDIF out (dry guitar signal) to S/PDIF in. Works great.

- Only the HD500 and HD PRO have S/PDIF (coaxial) outs.

- In your scenario you could connect only one POD via S/PDIF, the other one has to be linked via line out. If this is a mono signal (using just one line in on the PRO40) you could still plug in your seven drum mics (two in the front of the PRO40 and the other five at the rear)

- The S/PDIF in on the Saffire Pro 40 can be used as a stereo input simultaneously with the mic/line inputs. All separatly assignable to your DAW.

- AFAIK ther are no PODs with optical S/PDIF outs

I hope this helps

Regards

cenkosy

Edit: you have to set the sync source (digital clocking) in the Focusrite software to S/PDIF so that the POD becomes the master an the PRO40 the slave. As long as don't use other digital hardware (e.g. ADAT mic-preamps via optical link) this shouldn't cause any problems.

Nachricht geändert durch cenkosy

Changeing from high-gain to acoustic sounds (with a JTV) is fun and works really good for me.

Greets

cenkosy
