do you have this feedback if you use a blank patch?

if not the problem probably comes from the way the patch was dialed ..if yes...then the POD is the culprit...hope it helps

also, the POD should be maxed in a recording context...but I'm not sure in your case you'd want to do that...personally, I wouldn't.

I'd set the volume high enough but not maxed...perhaps a bit more than half way up.

do you mean while the content is being transfered? or once it's loaded in the HD?

if it's during the transfert, my tone is also affected and sounds different from the one I get when it's over for some reasons

..not clean but not as tight/full I'd say

well this issue is somewhat different as you talk about something that is already there...though I agree with you that % aren't good for EQs it's nothing to do with the fact that some of the pod HD got new amp models... leaving the hd500 by the wayside...as I said previously, line6 always made it clear that all pods are equal so to speak..and so far there are (as soon as the update comes out that is)

I'd guess the SLO amp and whatever else the 300/400 units got in their updates will probably be added.

yes it will, that was what I was asking about and it's been confirmed.

If not all expectations are achieved, does that mean the unit many have had like the gentleman posting here has been using all this time is now rendered useless or unworthy of keeping?

if you buy a unit on the sole premise that it will (one day) be update and will (perhaps) eventually be updated to be the way you want it to be...then you have a screw loose lol

if you believe the unit is useless, the few updates that Line6 have release won't change your mind...so you'll be better off selling/trading it for something else

but you're drifting away..what you're talking about is another matter altogether and it has very little (if anything at all) to do with my first post that was about making sure Line6 didn't change their mind about all 3 PODs offering the same content.

had a GT10 before too, sure you wont miss it, though the POD isnt prfect ofc! but the amp models are ..different

an IR file is a static image of a cab (sound wise ofc) ..see the red wire website for instance for more info

ps: they offer a free pack of marshall cabs to download (but you'll need a loader like lepou's lecab2 to use it if you wanna try em out)

man don't take it bad uh but, in that case just say you people don't know or that you haven't been given any info yet and that's it...because "soon" means something unfortunately lol...like "fast", "quickly" ....and just for the record, etymologically it means "immediate" or "immediately"...

then you are likely to be disappointed and feel that Line 6 has failed

good one... I'm no 15 y.o brat who needs new "entertainment"...it was just out of sheer curiosity that I asked that since you mentioned it in your post... see my first post, I never asked for a date cuz it doesn't really matter to me when it comes out..next year for all I care...but again if you have no info, just be clear about it. There's no need to expatiate upon something we know nothing about...especially if you believe that what you post means nothing.

aye,

as usual, I guess the rule is that there's no rule...but here's how I often use it.

in a mono setup, I always dial in my amp panned hard left and right. I often push the channel volume up to 100 and as I don't want to change my master volume setting since it affects the tone, once I have everything set up, I then use the panning controls of the mixer to actually mimic a volume control by bringing the amp gradully back to the center until I reach a volume high enough to suit my needs...

in a dual amp setup (often using twice the same amp/settings but mic'ed up differently), it's a bit different however. I use the mixer volumes to make sure both my amps have an equal volume and I then use the panning pots to blend them to any ratio I like depending on the mics I used.

I asked the question some time ago and a member called Silverhead (line6 expert) said the update was to be expected soon....whatever that means...so I guess there's no problem, it will be available on the hd500...besides Line6 always made it clear from the beginning onward that all POD models would offer the same amp models...and that would somewhat be a dangerous move business-wise not to stick to their words.

thanks for your answer, I can also get a pretty decent tone fron the onboard cab but the thing is that it takes way longer to dial it in than with an iR file..

basically what I do is that I first load 2 iRs that I use to dial in the amp ...and when I'm done, I remove the iR cab and turn the onboard cab to dial it in. That way is the best I have found to get good tone quickly.

If I dial the amp in with the cab on I keep tweaking and tweaking ..sometimes getting nowhere! lol

so being able to load one/two iR or maybe even to replace a given cab by an iR file would be interesting...but I still don't know whether the idea can be implemented..thanks for the link, I have sent em an email.
