Yeah I hear you guys. I assumed that the money and time they invested in the Stagesource was going to have an impact on POD development. It's just a shame seeing how things were gradually getting better with each successive firmware then they put the brakes on.

Perhaps you're right Zap...the split output thing could be a DSP limitation but then again I can't see it'd be any more taxing than a dual amp setup (in fact, less so, as only one would have speaker emulation). Even if they made it for single amp chains only, that'd be something.

And yeah PRS - same here. I mean, being a bit of a fan boy, I'd still lust after anything new they brought out but having stuck with the X3 all the way to completion, I think I'd feel short changed if this is as good as the HD got.

I hope those feature suggestions are going somewhere! Things like custom IR's I don't expect to happen and to be honest, it's never really bugged me too much. I can just use plugins for that. But there are a small number of very minor tweaks and additions that would just give the HD that extra finesse and make it that much more sellable to someone who is otherwise considering dropping 3x as much money on an Axe FX or something.

I know these kind of threads come up once in a while, and before anyone says it I realise that the HD has come on a very long way from v1.0 what with new features, new amps, and several fixes. But progress seems to have come to a complete standstill, and it's hardly as if there aren't things that need to be addressed. How about using a cabinet without an amplifier model (for running real tube pre-amps in the FX loop)? Or outputting studio direct over XLR and pre-amp only over 1/4"? Or EQ's displayed in hz (with clipping issues addressed)? Or dry guitar over USB? Or phase/delay controls for dual tone setups? Or even a plugin version of the POD? All of which, with the exception of phase controls, the X3 could do no problem.

I guess it'd be nice to know if the HD Pro is ever likely to be updated. The silence is kind of frustrating. Or is it more likely we'll have to wait for the HD1000 or something? I won't necessarily mind if that's the case but I'll be so disappointed if they don't take on board any of the excellent suggestions that crop up on this board from people who actually use these things out there. If they are planning a new unit, I'd suggest that they take a trawl through their feature suggestion inbox or put up some polls as to most requested features or something. I have a lot of love for Line 6, and I find this newest POD to be the most realistic yet but it feels like they've put it out to pasture way too soon in favour of their other ventures (live sound and guitars).

Anyone else feel the same?

Hey man. Yeah I'm using SPDIF RCA cables, and not phono leads as some people do. It's really baffling. With SPDIF in and out connected, my soundcard just will not lock to the HD Pro, even though I've set the clock sync source as external. If I only use SPDIF out, I get an unreliable connection. I can keep using SPDIF in only, and continue using the dry guitar output to record dry guitar. It's by no means a bad or sonically inferior solution. But I don't like that something that's supposed to work...doesn't!

Oh and thanks very much!! I'm finally getting back into videos, so I'll be doing one on using the HD Pro to do re-amping in the manner I described soon. Cheers dude!

Hey guys! I've posted about this a few times, and since then I've changed setups, invested in a power conditioner, bought hum/ground loop eliminators and switched audio interfaces. The problem is still the same, and it's one I used to get even with the XT Pro and X3 Pro.

Basically I can run dry guitar back into my HD Pro by SPDIF with no problem (I track dry guitar into my sequencer using the dry guitar analog out, and it works just fine). However this means I'm using two analog inputs on my audio interface, when I should really only be using one. If I connect SPDIF in and out at the same time, I cannot get sync lock, as though both devices are battling for master status. What's more, if I connect the HD Pro as clock source, SPDIF lock frequently gets knocked out by the slightest of things like a light turning on or off in the house. I would be inclined to suspect bad wiring but I also notice that disengaging the tuner causes a similar effect, not to mention the fact I've had this happen across multiple computers with both my old FireWire interface and my new one (both M-Audio).

I'm receiving a USB2 interface tomorrow - Komplete Audio 6 - so the first thing I'll do is see if it's any different with that, but I have seen other posts online relating to users being unable to connect SPDIF in and out at the same time. What are your experiences??

My full setup is as follows:

Samson PS10 Power Conditioner (into which I run absolutely everything)

Belkin Surge Protected Mains Strip

Desktop Computer (Phenom II X4 965BE, 4GB RAM, 750W Fatality Gaming PSU)

M-Audio ProFire 610 (previously FW410, same problem)

Behringer HD400 Hum Destroyers between all analog connections

POD HD Pro

The only component I'm not 100% on is the FireWire controller, although I have no issues with the connection, no audio driver dropouts or anything like that.

You would think that they could just take all of the good ideas they've already come up with, keep them, and just make them better. The cab block would need phase/delay controls. Maybe a control for "re-sizing" the impulses as well. That's about it really.

It's kinda what I thought, but just wanted to check. I know dry guitar out over SPDIF is fine but I still have issues with sync lock using the HD Pro as master (as slave it's totally fine). Just picked up the Behringer HD400 hum isolator and now have the dry guitar output on the HD Pro working perfectly with no high pitched whine or hum Now I'm curious as to which input I should connect it to? Plugged into the Line Input of my ProFire 610 it's pretty quiet (I think they're -10dB inputs). Should I connect it to my guitar input instead and match the volume of the HD Pro in tuner mode? Trying to get everything set up so I'm re-amping at the same level as I originally recorded. Many thanks
