Have you got the latest version of Monkey?

I had the same issue, and it was because I'd declined the option to install the latest version of Monkey. Once I installed the new version of Monkey, the update was very quick and painless.

Hello,

I am selling my Toneport UX1, and am unsure what I need to do in order to allow the new user to use the model packs and Pod Farm VST that I bought.

The device is authorised in licence manager, but my computer isn't.

Is it simply a case of de-authorising the device before I send it? Or do I also need to give the new user access to my Line 6 account?

I was diappointed with v 1.81. The 'room' sound was really annoying, and it made the sounds unusable through my little acoustic amp. The 'sparkle' of the tones was gone, and the tone control just made the tones muffled. The 12-strings were awful, whereas I'd been able to make them usable in 1.71 with Workbench. No so with 1.81.

I rolled back and I'm much happier.

It is still working fine. I've updated to 1.81 and rolled back (don't like the new acoustic models) and it's still working great

Oddly enough, it works perfectly today. I will test it extensively over the weekend to see if I can replicate the fault. How odd.

I did re-flash the firmware. It didn't help at all . I'm very disappointed because I love the Variax technology.

I had it ordered in 'blood red' by the shop. I had a quick play on it before charging the battery. Everything worked fine. However, since I charged the battery, the guitar has started behaving erratically. The alternate tunings don't always work when they are slected, and the virtual capo function doesn't produce the correct tuning (and sounds horrible, to boot). I can't programme tunings using Workbench either, so I'm pretty disappointed.

It's going back to the shop tomorrow and I'll be seeking a working replacement. I'm incredibly disappointed. I had a Variax 300 which I loved, but which had no end of problems. I was hoping that I would not be adding to the internet horror stories I'd read about the JTV models. Alas, it wasn't to be. I love the technology, but really wish Line 6 would get their quality control sorted out. £950 was a lot of my hard-earned money for me to spend on a guitar.

I have a trusty Vax 300 - is the JTV a worthwhile upgrade?

My Vax 300 stays in tune and plays superbly. I do miss magnetic pickups, however, and the only other guitar with mags that I own is a shred-style guitar with high output p'ups.

I wasn't going to upgrade, but I'm intrigued by the forthcoming acoustic models upgrade. I've bought a DT25 too. Also, I've read that the electric sounds are also clearer and more dynamically pleasing. Is that true?

Thank you for that fantastic reply. I still don't understand if there is a difference between topologies and voicings though. If I understand correctly, selecting a preamp model on the Pod will revert the DT topology to one of the four available, is that correct? So what effect does this have, if the topology is a voicing of the DT? Will it just colour the Pod sound differently, depending on which is set?
