Line 6 M5 - Switching-on problem

Hello, Line 6 Support and Line 6 Users!

I have a problem with the Line 6 M5: the unit powers up approximately in one case of 10.

The unit was purchased in the US on the ~15th of June in 2011 and was shipped to Russian Federation.

What options do I have to get it fixed?

Additional information:

Type of cable(s) used: Instrument

Guitar: Standard 6-string electric guitar

Power supply: DC-1g

Have you tried different guitars, mics, cables, and amplifiers and are still having the same problem? Yes.

Have you tried to replicate this problem in a different location? Yes.

Have you used a power conditioner? Are all of your units getting their power from the same source? No power conditioner. Yes, all units power from the same source, but the issue tested with M5 as the only int in chain.

My M13 was purchased from eBay Store in USA on the 2nd of January, 2011 (still covered by warranty).

The unit has the same problem, as it's described in this thread.

As I live in Russia, I would like to know: what are my options in the way to get it fixed or replaced?

I can't afford myself having 2 multi-effects units at the same time. And it's very inconvеnient to do tracking with HD and then connecting XT for working with POD Farm. Don't you think so?

Hi, guys!

My quiestion seems to be simple to answer. Well, could I use HD500 as a USB-key for my POD Farm Plugin? I used to connect my X3L and cuurrently XTL for this application - it worked / still works fine.

No, I bought my X3L new on eBay. But If I did it in my local music store, it wouldn't make sense, 'cause it take them (store) almost 1 year to repair equipment. This is standard russian service.

It wasn't old stock. I checked serial number.

you know what, I even used my X3L without shoes! Finally, the tap / tuner button quited workin'.

about warranty. It's very sad - I have no service centers in my country (Russian Federation). So, I can not get it fixed. that's it.

zap3nc, you had 3 xtls, didn't you? have you got issues / troubles with them?

I've installed POD Farm. And also got the POD Farm's Free Offer License Key. Is that enough?

Then it's pretty sad.

Yes, I am. I've bought my X3L in May, 2009. So, I believe, it's a new one, that should work without issues. Unfortunately, that's not real. One of footswitches quited working. That is a big problem for me, as I need to play lives. I do not have neither a back-up POD nor pedal-board.

Yeah, I believed in that too.

And I got one more question. Is sound-quality of POD xt is the same as POD x3's? This is a very important to me, 'cause actually I can buy a new X3L again, but the only reason of not doing this - is footswitches-issue.

Hi! I've bought X3L a year ago and got POD Farm with it. So, when I connect POD to computer I can launch POD Farm VST Plugin.

But recently I decided to sell X3L and go for XTL instead (footswitches issue). I got a question, can I use XT as a authorization device with POD Farm instead my old X3?
