I am having loads of fun using your stuff, but if I can't record it with decent quality its next to useless. This post has been here for ages as ASSUMED ANSWERED but it's NOT. Say something already!

Studio GX + POD Farm User needs help activating Platinum version

I posted this in a previous discussion but since it's not the exact same issue and it apears to be a closed case or dead thread I started a new one.

I'm also a Studio GX and Pod Farm 2 user, and yesterday I noticed a copy of POD Farm Platinum in a music shop at a knocked down price. Tired of having several effects I ACTUALLY need greyed out and unavailable, I bought the license.

When I get home later and open the package I noticed this iLok nonsense in the cd sleeve. In the box it does say I need n iLok dongle, but it's in the very bottom of the damn thing, Nothing stated on the whole freaking box that I had to buy extra devices! I didn't even had a clue what an iLok was! And now I have to buy one?! For an extra 50 bucks?!

Please tell me it IS possible to solve this, without buying a iLok key. I haven't activated the thing yet as I don't have the dongle, can I switch this to the non-iLok version?

Hello,

Problem solved!

I went to the store where I purchased the GX to get them to help me figure out what was wrong. I took all my gear with just to make sure. After we tried everything someone in the store suggested this thing only works with electric guitars. Although it was a wierd suggestion, we decided to try an electric guitar. And voila! Worked fine! Turns out it was MY acoustic guitar (we then tried another acoustic and it worked fine as well) that was causing the issue. I don't know why yet. I went to get my electric guitar and I'm too busy playing. It's all good!

That does work like I mentioned above. But it brings up a whole bunch of other problems. I'm going to have a go at another house / computer. This thing is pretty useless for me if I don't get it working on my terms though...
