Input 2 was set to Variax and Input 1 was guitar.

Ooh spooky, I was playing through the 2 Silverhead albums yesterday but I suppose your name as nothing to do with the 70s rock band.

I had both my JTV-59's in July/August 2011 and I still look at them with love in my eyes.

I also have never bothered with any of my other guitars.

I even sold a Gibson Les Paul Standard and Yamaha SG2000 because I would never use them again.

How do I use the tuner with just the VDI lead?

Do I need to change something in the serttings?

I watched a band the other week and noticed the guitarists Variax plugged into his HD500 with only the VDI lead and asked him after if he was able to tune that way.

Obviously something is setup wrong on mine.

From the first Variax 300 I had I thought it was a bit stupid that a guitar could be tuned to anything you want but the software didn't put it in tune.

All those years ago explaining to other musicians got funny looks that you still had to tune the strings to pitch for it to work properly.

For Line 6 I don't think it is a great leap that if you put your guitar to a tuning it also puts you in tune.

Mind you, can you imagine the horror from the audience saying 'That guitarist is using autotune'

I've said before on here that I've been playing semi-professionaly since 1970 and owned some amazing guitars but the two JTV-59s I have are the best things I've ever bought. Just before Christmas I got the POD HD500 and hopefully a DT25 will follow later in the year.

I got two Korean models and they both play better than my Gibson Les Paul and Yamaha SG2000 and that's why I sold them.

I can understand that some people think I'm daft but in my hands the JTV-59s are perfect.

I sold a 1996 Gibson Les Paul Standard, 1976 Yamaha SG2000 and 78 American Fender Strat to buy two JTV-59s and they really are the best instrument I've ever played in 43 years of gigging.

Hopefully you will be as thrilled as I am.

Before you buy a Schechter or Boss gear listen to my story.

I've been buying Line 6 gear for years with absolutely no problems at all and even owned a Variax 300 which was excellent.

In July 2011 I go tmy hands on a Tyler JTV-59 and it was th emost perfect thing I'd played in 42 years of gigging. In fact it was that good that I traded in a Gibson Les Paul Standard and Yamaha SG2000 6 weeks later to buy another one. I've had 17 months trouble free from playing the Korean Tylers and still look at them in awe. I've recently purchased a POD HD500 and so far that's been trouble free.

Just because you've had a bad experience doesn't mean we all will and remember that the majority of owners who post here are those that do have problems.
