Is there a Timeout function on the POD HD500?

This happens every single time I am on stage. While preparing, everything works fine. Then, the group takes a break and return usually after 20 minutes or so. The HD500 makes no sound. The sound returns after I step on another preset and back to the one I left before the break. I believe I am on the latest firmware. We're direct to PA and all other musical instruments does not experience any of this silence.

Has anyone experienced this? All went well with my HD500 for 3.5 hours but after a 2 hours break, no sound came out of it. The sound came back again after I switch over to another patch and back. It has happened so often I can just duplicate this "error" again, anytime. The HD500 is left powered on stage through out the 6/7 hours of use.

My HD500 is going direct to the PA and I am certain all my settings are pretty much normal with my Volume before everything else.

The top strap button was loose and it fell off. My JTV59 dropped to the floor, bottom first.

My G30 got hit first and then the guitar itself. I had accepted and compromised on some of the undesirable things about this guitar before - like the selector knobs not responding promptly, the high E too near the edge, not able to get action low enough, then the G30 battery door (I had to use bicycle tire tubes to hold it in place), and the HD500 power tip not firm enough ... now this!

I have 5 guitars with me at this time, all much older than my JTV59 - never once did I have to worry about those strap buttons!

WHAT CAN I DO TO REPAIR THIS ON MY OWN?

My consolation to myself - I have a worn guitar now!

Thumbs Up for comment from both Silverhead and Edstar - two guys (one with a tag, the other without) who give very useful and sound contributions. Forums, I have learnt is the Wild Wild West, where the Good, the Bad and the Ugly exists.

Is there a better Tyler Variax VDI Cable?

The cable that came with my JTV59 looks like a regular RJ45 cable and doesn't look very instrumental, very unlike a regular guitar cable. Is there a better one? The one shown here --- https://www.globalfulfillment.net/gfsnet/(S(4odmd0el5hezjaz1vm02a445))/line6/10Expand.aspx?ProductCode=98-030-0004 does not mention its use with the HD500.

I had the same encounter which I resolved when I realized that the Internet (Broadband) connection at home interfered with my G30 wireless frequency.

Check this thread out - http://line6.com/support/thread/25841. I use the 500H with my M13 and it works very well. Easy setup with TRS cable and the range I get is practically 0 to 100 or whatever values you set it up for, e.g. you can do 35 to 45.

I tried the sanding method suggested but I am basically lazy and I happen to ride a mountain bike.
