I'm in the same boat and even have a support ticket issued. What's weird is that I can un-plug my USB cable on the computer, plug it into the same port on the computer, and it will work again. I've also noticed that sometimes the noise doesn't come in until a minute into a recorded track.

I figured it out. Used an allen wrench to open up the switch and spray some contact cleaner. that did the trick. for the record, if you ever have to pull the switch from the top of the Pod, have a pair of tweezers handy. The nut inside is...tricky. I didn't intent to open up the back of the Pod, but I had to when the nut shifted out of reach.

Footswitch problem

Anyone have any experience with a "faulty" or troublesome switch on the HD500? My FS7 doesn't always engage when I step on it. In fact, it seems to react slower to changing channels than the other 3. I can't afford to be without it to send it off to the nearest repair center nor do I have the time to take it up for a same-day repair. Anyone know if there's a way to open get some contact cleaner in there?

I have tomorrow off of work. That means no wife and child in the house so I can update my HD500, get used to any tweaks, and play with new features IF the update hits the target. I really hope the update comes out tomorrow...
