just found this link. looks really cool. i just ordered a jtv-89 and would love a sustainer in it but don't want to route or add knobs or switches. maybe this is the way?

amx, mine is ribbon cable. that's the problem. i can't find the right stuff for a longer one. my 300 guts look just like the picture on the overview page for this group. your's is wire? i'm speaking of the ribbon cable between the main board and the model selector board. not between the bridge and the board. hope i wasn't unclear before though i'm sure i was. never even considered i was being confusing. sorry about that.

hi marcwormjim to use the floyd to run both, the leads from the variax board are soldered directly to the hexpander board right where the piezo leads come in. i'll try to put a picture of that up some time as i'm sure it will be helpful for some.

i'll have to talk to my electronics friend to see if he can splice some wires in the middle of my ribbon cable. ideally i would prefer to have a longer ribbon cable the same as came in it but whatever works.

Hi all. I've been working on my first transplant for a while now and have gathered a lot of info from you folks on this board. Thanks a lot. I'm putting the guts of a 300 into a Squire Stagemaster with a Graphtech Floyd and Hexpander to run a Roland synth. I'm also attempting to put a Sustainiac in there. Turns out I need to route a bigger hole still.

Anyway, at first I thought I had it so my ribbon cable would reach but it won't. I have since tried to get my hands on a longer piece but have struck out miserably with ebay, cable suppliers, computer repair guys and electronics repair guys. Can anyone tell me where I can get the cable I need for this? Better yet, does anyone have a piece laying around their house they want to sell? I likely need 10 cm or so (5-6").

Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

it looks like the connector for the bridge on a 300 but on mine it's on the other side of the board.

i'm planning a transplant in the very near future including the vax, graphtech floyd rose and hexpander board plus a sustainiac. i already have the graphtech gear in my posession. i have absolutely no problem routing as much of the body out as necessary if a smooth system to use the synth and vax at the same time is possible.

the plan is to use a vax 300 as the donor. i also have a 500. i figured if i was going to screw one up it should be the cheaper 300.

have you made any headway with the solution? are you making any boards?

i would love to hear more about what you're doing and if it would work in my plans.
