I have to disagree with that. I still use my Echo Layla 24 PCI audio card for my desktop studio computer. They discontinued this product in the arely 2000's and yet they still update the drivers for it. Line 6 could still support their lagacy products if they wanted to. I would still buy the new stuff and keep the old...... I'm doing that anyways... LOL!!!

what kind of drums are you talking about? Electronic drum kit? Take the midi out of the electronic kit to an midi interface and then you can record your midi info that way. The UX8 doesn't mave any midi conectors on itso you would have to get one.

Do the "old" Variaxs work with the HD 500 via cat cable? That might be the issue....Check 2.13 in the advance users manual. http://line6.com/data/6/0a06434dc1a55085c5d6532bf/application/pdf/POD%20HD500%20Advanced%20Guide%20v2.10%20-%20English%20(%20Rev%20A%20).pdf Set the Variax setting to "Variax 500/700. Is it global? I don't know....

As for line 6 stuff....... I've been a user since 1998..... great gear and a great support community!!!!

I used to connect my XT Live into my Marshall Valvestate's effects return jack. I had the XT Live set on studio direct. Tweek the XT Live's EQ to taste....

splitter? or a pedal that has stereo outs? guitar > cable> stompbox with stereo outs> one output to the Line 6 device and the other output to the Xbox..... hope that helps.....
