Re: P180 Availability (Alternatives) and cable options

Plus 1 from myself, Don and Ron, I have had my P180's on order since December, and ended up ordering them from B& H in New York where they advised me the usual 7-14 days to order plus shipping time to Australia. They advised me since they aren't expecting them until March. It is a sad case where it is hard to get this stock, and also hard to find international shipping as the pricing in Australia is prohibitive. (more like gouging). Sounds like Ron and I should start distributing for you guys. Great products, I think there is only two reasons every muso in Australia doesn't go wireless is the pricing, and the availability, also who carries spares and back up for you in Australia (in actual stock)? If they lowered their prices even a little here, we would get them locally, but its not 10-20 percent more, its almost double, well beyond the shipping.

Can't wait until our six vocals are all wireless. Congratulations on the excellent products.

Geoff

Using XD-V70 with instrument

Hi there,

i am an avid fan and prostletist for Line6 digital wireless stuff. I have a G50 which has been very reliable, I have also an XDV70. I have ordered a G90 and a set of P180 antennas. I will be linking the XDV70 and G90 and using the P180 for both.

1. Can I use different lenth 50 ohm coax on each side and simply adjust the gain switch on each antenna to suit the length? I.e. they do they have to be balanced?

2. What happens if you have a high gain set for a shorter distance?

Also, I am in two bands, one without the need for the XDV70 mic and I have hooked the receiver up to my bass amp and used the transmitter from the G50 with good results. Are these transmitter and reciever units all mixable like this, if so , is the reciever for the XDV70 basically the same as the G90. If so, why can't the G90 come in the half size rack unit. Am I kidding myself that these units are compatible or are there audio frequency specifics that make this not ok.

Also word to the wise, no one in Australia is supplying the potential market you have here, and those that do are gouging. I am ordering from the states at half what I would pay locally, and they have little in the way of P180's or P360's and general service.

Anyway love the gear... feel untethered for the first time in 30 years...

Cheers

Geoff Irvin

Melbourne

Australia

G90

Hi there,

I have been happily using my G50 for guitar in one band and am now thinking of getting a G90 and

a couple of XVD-70s for vocals. Love the gear. My question is pretty simple though.

I live in Australia with its 240 v power system but the price here is almost double those I can buy direct

from the states. Is there a switch on the back of the receiver units that determines the 120-240 input and

so can I buy direct from the states and just use a standard IEC power cable, or are these units incompatable

for some reason? I am looking at a saving of over $300 per unit if I can buy them from the US. The difference will force me to

other brands...

cheers

Geoff

Re: Performance issues - Self Check

Going directly from the the receiver to the mixer, if I output from the main, I get either NO sound, or garbled sound. If I switch the output to the tuner/aux it works. Same is true with any and ALL transmitters. I also have been trying different channels. No difference. I have tried pairing with other receivers and, when paired with a functioning receiver, it works fine from the main output.

Hi Adam,

just wondering about the simple things... is the phantom power switched on on any of the mixer inputs?

Dboomer, I am a big fan of the G50, but do get the odd drop out now and then due to line of sight issues, walking/running through the crowd and stuff. Are the antenna's available for the G90 etc adaptable to the G50?

If not, will Line 6 think about something for it? A lot of us aren't running racks and just want to elevate the antenna's while powering the receiver from the pedal board.

Cheers for the forum.
