I'm guessing you're using something like Logitech or similar for your USB headset...seriously just go buy a pair of $20 Sony headphones, the quality will probably be just as good, plug into your headphone output on the HD500, and hear everything coming off your computer, plus guitar tones, without any extra processor issue or in-DAW montoring...

I carry mine with me so I have all my patches backed up...if there's some sort of surge/electrical issue during a soundcheck/set-up that could, if even remotely possible, that could "Factory Reset" my POD, I don't want to have to try and build a bank of useable patches on the spot, I'll just pull out my laptop, load up HD-Edit, drop my bundle onto the device, recalibrate my EXP pedal, and get back to it!

Wondering if anyone has any experience with thier line of powered PA speakers? I see they are greatly under-powered compared to models by other companies with the same size drivers, however I see that they are also Class A/B instead Class D, like most others are. I'm wondering if a set of the 15's with a 15-band EQ would have suffcient volume for an 8-string guitar in a metal band with a loud drummer. I'm also interested in purchasing several of the 10" models for practice monitoring. I see good reviews online, but am curious about the actual available volume. Anyone have any experience with any of Kustom's powered speakers, postive or negative?

I like to use two gates for really tight riffing and mutes...I stick a hard gate just high enough to cut out when I mute right at the front of the chain, before anything, then I'll usually put another one with higher settings after my OD boost in the chain. I was getting those quick feedback sounds at the end of my mutes too, but for me it was mostly a matter of playing tighter and making sure I didn't have everything "on 10"

how bout something like Windows ReadyBoost...plug something into the USB port to give a little extra room for processing...or how 'bout something that connects via USB that would allow us to use the looper more like a real one i.e. store loops for later use, add effects to loops...that would be cool.

I'm not even suggesting you buy the QSC's, Fender Passport PAs sound freaking sweet for the price, Mackie Thumps and an EQ can sound great. ARe you editing your live patches at the same volume you're using them in context? There are a lot of factors to consider about what you're plugging into, as well as what you'r eputting into it.
