Hi all,

I've been recently looking into purchasing a powered speaker system to run my HD Pro through. I am really looking to eliminiate the need in lugging around a tube head and 4x12 cab (or a power amp & 4x12 cab), so a powered speaker seems to be the logical solution.

I want something LOUD ENOUGH to where if I'm in a situation of running my HD Pro straight to board isn't an option (in which case I'd use the powered speaker as an onstage mointor), I will still have the volume needed to play the show.

I've looked at a few different options as far as these go:

Mackie HD's

JBL PRX's

and the EV ELX's

I am leaning towards the EV ELX115p merely based on price (seems to be on par with the JBL and Mackie options), but was wondering if anyone had used their POD through the Line 6 powered speakers, the StageSource L3T and L3M?

I didn't know if there was perhaps an advantage with using the HD Pro with one of the StageSource speakers as it may be optimized for this or if it'd pretty much be the same regardless with what setup I went with.

Also, can anyone tell me what the difference is between the StageSource L3T and L3M is besides price?

Any and all help is greatly appreciated.

I had posted on here probably a couple weeks ago asking for advice on the HD Pro, and since have ordered one. It was delivered today and I can't wait to get home and start messing with it. Just wanted to see if I could get a detailed explanation on the best way to connect it to my tube amp head & bypass the head's preamp.

I am using a B-52 ATX100 all-tube head that has an effects loop. I've glanced over several connectivity options but being new to multi effects processors I wanted to make sure to connect it the best possible way to get the best tone

Any and all help is GREATLY appreciated.

Hello,

I am currently in a band (http://www.facebook.com/depthstn) and we're in the process of upgrading our gear to begin writing new material for our next CD/show set. For our new material we will be pursuing a heavier, "djent"-driven type sound than what we've done so far, very much like that of Aristeia (http://www.facebook.com/aristeiamusic) & bands of the like. You can see our transition towards this style in our 2011 tracks "The Brave One" & "Abductor".

Anyways, I was looking at getting an HD Pro to be pretty much the center of my new setup. Previously I had been pretty much set on getting an AxeFX II... but after seeing how the HD Pro hung with the Fractal unit in countless tone comparison videos, hearing nothing but amazing things, and the fact that it's 1/3rd the cost of course I have almost decided on the HD Pro. I haven't had the chance to try one out yet as I live about 75miles (in any direction) away from any of the big music stores that would possibly have one to demo, but that honestly isn't my biggest concern. Based off just tone videos on youtube alone, I am pretty positive the HD Pro will deliver all the tones I need and more, I'm just worried about how it would work/sound with how I'm planning to use it.

I'm currently using a B-52 ATX100 All-Tube Head (with some various pedals/gates that will obviously be tossed in the closet or sold if I get the HD Pro), and this would be what I would use to push the HD Pro until a later time when I would probably invest in a Carvin Rack Tube Power Amp. I'm just concerned about the tone when using it with an amp. I've had bad experiences in the past trying to use effects processors with amps (none of them were Line 6 processors, though). I know that in the product description it talks about there being output modes for all kinds of amps, disabling power amp models to just drive the tube amp's power section, and am also aware that I can bypass my own amp's preamp section by using the 4CM or going through the effects loop but I just wanted to make sure people using these methods have beeng getting good sound. Most reviews I have read the users are going direct for recording, going through a PA, or are already using power amps, and I just had to be sure before I fully decide on the purchase.

So I guess what I'm asking for is feedback on anyone using the unit in this way, and advice or opinions for getting the best possible sound.

Any and all help is greatly appreciated, I really want this unit but I just want to make sure it's going to do what I need before shelling out the cash.
