hi. in audition (a session track, mind you), with the "main" tab in the forefront, click on the "fx" butting at the top of the tab.

expand the track witdth size where the wav file is displayed and you'll see the fx window emerge on the left (in the box where the mute, solo, and record buttons are located).

in the fx window, right next to "fx", there is a button with a circle broken by a vertical straight line. click on this to activate the effects. in the window immediately below it, click the arrow. this will show all effects options. pod farm should be listed inder "vst". once pod farm engages, there will be a window at the top to choose pre-set sounds (you can manipulate this to choose settings you've created, once you know what folders you can access from here).

thanks for the info abt reaper. i'll investigate. just so you know, when i ran across this limitation of pod farm (at least, in my setup), i was using a very stripped down preset, disabling chorus and reverb in the 'lux verb chorus option. so, this setting by itself should not have been a cpu hog, even though it was running on multiple tracks simultaneously. in fact, as i stated in my previous reply, real-time monitoring of the 'tipping point' of sound degradation doesn't show any correlation in my processor usage. i'm interested in upgrading to pod farm 2, and hopefully, that would address the issue, but that's for another day.

thanks for the reply. monkey indicates that i have the latest driver for pod farm 1. i have tried a different usb2 port for podxt, but have found that the slowdown and glitchiness remain when i arm 5-8 tracks with pod farm as an effect to enhance a dry guitar (amt of armed tracks triggering sound degradation depending on size of file and other audition-supplied effects are also running). my computer is runnning win7, and i have 4 gigs of ram and an amd pheenom 9850 quad core processor. while re-testing, i observed that the overall processor usage remained well below 50%.

clearly, there are workarounds, so this isn't a deal breaker. i am just wondering if any of the development/test crew (or subsequent users) pushed pod farm (1 or 2) to see how many tracks it could be used on simultaneously before there was a degradation in quality. i assume it was tested on adobe audition to some degree before release.

hey all;

i'm running pod farm in adobe audition 3. i've armed pod farm as a vst effect for multiple dry guitar tracks, and have noticed that when i get to abt 5 tracks armed, the audio breaks down into garbled noise and the real time audio (as the track plays) goes out the window. my computer is pretty robust, with an amd 4-quad processor, so i don't think pod farm was designed beyond my capabilities. i've searched for this kind of info before on forums and at the line6 site, but haven't seen anything abt pod farm's limitations on multi-tracks. can someone chime in abt this issue and hopefully provide some documentation? it would be much appreciated.
