And , slightly off topic, but I was at a mini trade show and dell happen to be a few booths down from me. I walked over to the rep, and she showed me the new dell xps ( not sure the model number ) but it is a combo laptop with a swivel screen that had windows 8 touch screen. Very cool. It was just being released that day

yes, me too. i ended up doing it via my work laptop. go figure, tht has tons of admin rights ( that are not mine ) yet I had no problem. it is a lenovo bus laptop... my new personal dell i7 xps_14 would had the same code... crazy. i remeber when i installed the pod hd originally on thi a month or two ago, it had probalems, but line 6 had some sort of automatic message that said to do cetain instructions and it worked ! But this upgrade was brutal. It may have something to do with the quad cores newer processors from what i think I read... anyway, I will check out the document listed above for future reference

i spent a lot of time on the epic as well. very easy to get nice smooth solo sound out of this with just the amp , screamer, and delay, and i was going thru headphones. i look forward to trying the Epic amp thru my monitors.

I ended up Ugrading with my work laptop without any issues. Not sure why the new laptop has issues, but, I am good to go. Ready to check out the new stuff !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Upgrade Failure : Need Help

I tried over and over to upgrade. It gives me a Timed Out Failure message 80007211 that the firmare timed out waiting for response from Device.

Now this is fairly new laptop ( Dell XPS 14 , Win 7 ) . When I originally downloaded the line 6 via monkey a month ago or so on this laptop, it would not load , but monkey directed me to to it a different way, and it worked. Now for this upgrade, the only other alternative was to download manually from line 6 site, then from monkey, I tried to update from file button, but still the same message. I turned off my antivirus / firewall/ etc, but still not able to upgrade.

I turned the unit off and on a few different times, used different usb ports. I also looked in the help section and one person that had a similar issue, but not quite the same, said he disabled his USB 2 and it worked.. I am not sure how to do that ( and if I want to do that ) ...

Any help is greatly appreciated. I like the description of the Line 6 EPIC !!!! And I want to hear it Now :-)

MAde on POD HD Desktop, Les Paul, Neck Pickup, thru Powered Monitors. Found smooth quality to it and can play with Comp for sustain, etc.

Hey silver, Thanks for the suggestions. I did roll back to 1.06 and everything works. I see what you are saying about the potential squeal situation. Fortunately, I never had that happen, but like you said, some of the presets contained the bad data that could cause it.

I might just have to do the "Manual thing" if I want any of those presets moving forward..

I guess I will roll back to that version then.. Its funny, I noticed some it lets me copy over and some it dont.

I just noticed I was suppossed to click "No" to saving presets ? I clicked YES to save them ... Do I roll back and reinstall ?

I just updated my POD HD Bean with the latest for both Flash and Monkey... Now some of the presets I imported ( 3 total ) say " New Tone (RESET) ... I am ok with that, but when I try to reload them from my hard drive, I get an error message that says " Invalid data found in one or more patches. These patches have been reset and named "New Tone (Reset).

Anyone have ideas how to correct this ?
