If you're using Windows, you can go to "add remove programs" via control panel and remove anything that has the word Java in it (you may have several versions). Then reboot, reinstall Java, reboot again, and try Line6 edit. If that doesn't work, you'll probably have to try to get some advice from Line 6 by creating a support ticket.

The Vetta talks to the computer via a program called "Line6Edit". You can download that program here on the Line6 website.

The best procedure is to download a program called "Line6 Monkey" first.

Monkey should download the latest version of Edit for you (just follow the instructions) and will also make it possible to update the firmware in your Vetta if you wish to do that (be careful). The latest firmware version for the Vetta is 2.50.

True, Thorne. When i had my amp repaired at LSI in New Jersey, they told me that their standard practice was to make their own jumpers and ribbon cables, because the quality was far superior to the ones that they could obtain ready-made.

The Midisport Uno is of no use in this situation, as no audio is transmitted over MIDI.

If your vetta has the Digital Interface Card installed, you can get digital out through the S/PDIF output. See the manual, page 3.11.

Otherwise you can run the direct outs into a recording interface to convert the analog audio to digital.

Watch your wiring. The effects send and return jacks are TRS jacks. See the manual page 4.14 and 4.15.

It's easily done, but with the right cabling.

If you can do it without voiding your ability to return it, open it up and reseat all the ribbon cable connectors.

Otherwise, i'd return it and look for another one. They aren't that hard to find.

As i understand it, the battery requires a technician to replace it because it is soldered into a clip which is soldered onto the board. I could be wrong. The battery is a 3V Battery: CR2430.
