Re: PC compatible software capable of sending MIDI CC information?

I'm sure it wont take somebody too long to develop their own or to find a way to use existing software without having to purchase a midi mobilizer or delve into the black arts of learning midi codes.

It would be preferable to use full models and use the Studio/Direct output as it would lack power amp simulation by just using the pre-models.

Re: New DT25. Anymore suggestions before I RMA

The problem exists by plugging the guitar in directly to the amp's front end and not using the POD so that eliminates the L6LINK. I don't have a power conditioner to hand but it was playing up both at home and at the drummers house in the next town. Courier's picking it up tomorrow so I'll be stuck lugging the DT50 around for a couple of weeks whilst it attends the amp hospital. meh!

Thanks for the advice tho Crusty,

New DT25. Anymore suggestions before I RMA

Hi guys,

I bought a new DT25 from an online retailer 6 weeks ago to save my back from lugging my DT50 back and for to praccy. All was good for the first couple of weeks but then I started having the volume drop out seemingly when I changed channel on the HD500. A quick reboot of the DT25 fixed it The same thing happened the following week at practise but again a reboot got it back.

Then on friday it cut out and a reboot failed to get it back. I checked the obvious things; checked the Line 6 link cable between the pod and the dt25, plugged the guitar straight into the input of the amp & checked the valves (all glowing merrily away). I carried on by plugging the POD directly into the PA to save holding up practise any longer.

Then during a beer break I decided to try taking the effect out from the DT25 directly into PA with no result so then I tried a 1/4" line out from the POD into the effect return on the DT25 and BINGO volume was back so I assume that the power amp section of the amp is working as expected and that the digital preamp section is at fault.

Having got it home I've re-flashed the amp's firmware several times (it failed on the first couple of attempts for some odd reason) and it seemed to work ok for about 30 minutes but then started playing up again after trying the other channel with a different topology. Again, the power map section is fine but seemingly the digital section faulty.

Anyone got any other ideas for me to try before I put her back in the box and send her back for repair?

Set the HD500 to Line and plug it into the Effects Return on the AVT. Set the correct Level on the Effect Return and set the Mix to max on the front of the AVT. Set the output of the HD500 to Combo PWR or Stack PWR (whatever sounds best to you) and use the Master Volume on the front of the AVT to whatever your neighbours can tolerate.

Ideally you would want to use the HD500 pre-amp models but try both the pre-amp models or full amp models to see what works for your ears.
