I have always thought that Line 6 gear - JTV and POD would be absolutely ideal for this sort of thing where the band plays any and all kinds of music.

I play both at church, which is a bit similar - works great.

I might be mistaken, but you can only have one 'amp' in a path - either the full one or a pre. You can't have both a pre and a full amp. You could have the pre in one path and the full version in the other path though - but it would be stereo/parallel, not series.

I saw a JTV69 being played by one of the band members on American Idol. I wonder if they're using PODs?

I didn't intend to offend anyone or bring any disrepute to Line 6's forums.

I also didn't like or find the event/photo 'cute'. I was quite alarmed when I witnessed it and had to clean it up.

Enjoy your new HD500 and I hope you enjoy the discussions you came to these forums to participate in! I have found this to be a largely helpful and interested community of gear fans and musicians.

Check that you don't have the time set to TEMPO SYNC.

You're talking about an external pedal...

Is the problem that the pedal does not control the time at all, or that when you change to the patch the current position of the pedal doesn't match what the setting of the time for that pedal position? (or something else)

Hi. Try doing the pedal recalibration.

I believe there are details in the manual and on the forums here.
