Hey Perry.

I troubleshooted (? 8P)

and found it was the buffer size.

So, no pops/dips when I did the tone test but,

no signal from my mic while running the steps

in the 'rec audio' sect.

Guess I'll keep trying to find what changed.

Think my first impression was correct about

the 'non~user' friendly setup.

I know I'm DAW ignorant but,

everything from Line 6 touts the 'ease'

Not feelin' it.

But, I do appreciate the help.

Can't believe that was holding me up. 8P

I'm having trouble with the mic recording.

I can't hear it while rec.

(phones are in proper jack/front,

incr mic~gain/output vol to test. nothing.)

It did record but, the sample vox I did were

breaking up/dropping out continuously.

Mic & cord work fine through PA

And the audio playback of the instruments (sample back~trax)

starts off that way then cleans up after about 10-15 secs.

any suggestions? or post as a new question?

Ok, I got my last hurdle jumped.

Now for a new one. 8P

I'm still trying to finish setup in LL7

it says to select MIDI/Control tab.

Then click Line 6 Audio-MIDI Devices.

Then it gets hinky. 8P

I have the 'Line 6 Audio-MIDI Devices ' button but,

when pressed it does not display what the lesson states.

Can't find the Controller Mapping on the MIDI tab.

I can't even find the POD Farm Preferences to access the

MIDI tab. Just the MIDI Sync in LL7s Preferences

Are they the same?

If so, how do I access the MIDI/Con. ~ Con.Mapp.?

I'm as green as can be with DAW but,

I hear ya about the live band vs a drum mach/seq/midi~instr etc

Good 'acoustic's' (even electrics 8) come from

the energy of the instr/musician/crowd/moment.

Even if that moment is band practice, right? 8D

Pop's not a dirty word in my world.

In moderation, of course. 8D

Nothing wrong with having a little variety in your bag.

All heavy/punk/hardcore or ANYthing is no good. 8P

A song has to have dynamics just like a set list/catalog of material.

the bosstones ref was meant as complimentary. 8)

It doesn't 'sound' like them as much as have that flavor.

Kind of like how I'm a huge Bono fan and he's influenced

my singing/writing but, I would prefer to hear someone say

"I can hear the influence" after hearing one of my originals,

then, "that sounded just like, ..."

followed by the name of a U2 song. 8P

Ya know? 8D

Cool, would love to hear it when your done the vox (?)

Error Msg: 'failed to open the audio device - AXIO UX1' LL7/POD Farm setup

I'm trying to continue my initial setup

Had a prev question answered and

after attempting to continue was told

my audio device was off.

So I repeated the prev step to select the

ASIO UX1 driver and got a

'failed to open the audio device.' mess.

Solution? Anyone?, ...'Bueller?, ...Bueller?' 8)

I was just listening to an mp3 on WMA.

Could that have screwed it up?

Don't giggle to yourself! 8P

I'm very inexperienced with

anything software or DAW related.

So please, ...be gentle. 8D

I tried going to sounds&audio devices' in my Control Panel

and selected Line6 for my mic, line in, ...

Re~opened both LL7 & PF and same result.

that repeating melody line/accents?

then good call on using a gtr instead.

Maybe something clean~er, for contrast?

Real sax woulda been dynamite but,

it'll prob sound less MMB~ish

At the risk of asking a question which

may be better suited for 'Recording for Dummies'

and confirms my cerebrally~deficient status 8P, ...

I'm trying to do the LiveLite setup.

I'm stuck on pg 5 of the Line 6 lesson,

'Setting up your Line 6 Interface'

Pg 5 is 'POD Farm Settings'

I have both LL7 & POD Farm open.

It says to select, 'instrument' from

Tone 1 and 'mic' from Tone 2 using

POD Farm's 'Source Select' menus.

I see a pull~down window for

'instrument, mic, line, ...' and

another for amp/cab presets (?)

but, no T1/T2, SS

I've checked the PF 'help' and

the LiveLite contents for Source Select

and Tone1/Tone2. No luck. 8P

I'm sure it's going to be an,

'aha' moment when I see the answer but,

it's jammin me up.

Any help is greatly appreciated.
