yea I have it ran from my pod to the mixer, with the monitors into the mixer. it works fine like that for guitar for recording and playing.

i am gonna have to buy a decent sound card and see how that goes and I will come back and let you know the verdict.

Im sure that once I do that, everything will work. Thanks for your help.

Now that I think about it, I will probably need the mixer hooked up to a PC in order to direct record vocals, keys, and drum machine. I guess when Im doing that, as long as I dont plug the POD in, the audio interface will be the sound card. And I also guess that once I plug the POD in, that takes over as the AI. Just thinking outloud

Alright, first of all, I love the ease of use that my HD400 has given me to record. I have KRK powered monitors and it sounds absolutely fantastic. My questions are as follows. MY setup is a POD HD400 direct into a PC for recording, using Reaper. I recently bought a mixer to be able to use my drum machine, vocal mics, and keyboards. My issue is when it comes to getting my drum machine to show up and record on Reaper. I have tried many hookups,(and will continue) but havent found how to get it to direct record to my DAW. The drum machine works fine thru the mixer. Havent tried keyboard yet as I want to solve one problem at a time. Do I need to get a quality soundcard for my PC? It sounds like that would complicate things considering the POD is an audio interface. Any solutions??

im having just the opposite problem. i have been able to connect to the computer, download all my updates but am having an issue getting my sound from the pod to the computer. i'll have to keep trying to figure it out, i'm sure its something simple

now I am wondering, if I have done everything seemingly like it's supposed to (all connections, setting the AI to the pod, etc.) and still not able to get any sound to my DAW, what do you suppose the problem would be? When I import drum tracks to the DAW, I hear them thru the computer. I can hear my pod thru my headphones but it is not registering in my DAW. I havent had a chance to look it over very much but will have to spend more time with it. Any ideas or suggestions are greatly appreciated.

hey thats a good point. i think that it will be on the approved list soon enough but thats another discussion all together. i really like the hd400's tones and hoping that i will be able to use it as a recording AI. Im n the process of this now and if/when i am successful, i will surely pass on the info for everyone to see. thanks for your input

Recording with the HD Pods

I am trying to gather some information of recording techniques used with the HD Pod models. I have recently bought the HD 400 and wondering about setting up direct recording. I guess using the Pod as an audio interface, what would be a good software program to record with. I have read some on Riffworks and it looks pretty easy to use. I am definitly looking for something that isnt like brain sugeory. I would much rather concentrate on my playing rather than trying to figure out a recording program. Any suggestions would be helpful. And by the way, I am computer savvy so I can learn things quick but would rather find something pretty easy.
