I noticed that when I go to tuner mode with a loop playing in the background that every thing goes silent... usually for tuning that is what I prefer... but sometimes I like to leave a loop playing in the background while I tune as a transition from song to song... would be great if that were a selectable option... (leave guitar input muted but output on?) otherwise I have to keep my boss tuner on my board... also noticed that the loop is actually erased when I switch to tuning mode... granted I am running OS v.2.01 so that may have already been fixed...

Another thing I'd love for the sampler would be the ability to switch between reverse/forward and halftime/regular while recording... so I can have these crazy little snippets of reverse or halftime in my loop... that could also be a selectable mode for people who want it... Overall I'm floored by how fun and easy to use this instrument is! Having an absolute blast! Great work guys!

What OS are you favoring? If using a mac... the built in GarageBand program is very decent and easy to use. For P.C. ... cubase, sonar, riffworks is probably enough if your just doing simple recordings... My needs are similar... I just want to bring the ideas in my head to life... the simpler... the better!

Sorry I don't know the specifics, but I believe you have to select somewhere in your recording program which input you plan on using... in garageband it's in the lower right hand corner of the window after you create a track... also make sure you're up to date on all the drivers... hope this helps a little... I'm a noobie to this system as well and cannot sit down with my recording gear at the moment...

Thanx for the reply! I'm just using a Macbook Pro w/ Garageband for now... will upgrade after I get the basics down. Yeah, I know not to give phantom power to the 58... Thanks though... if I hadn't known that... I'd be laying my 58 to rest! I think I've got my original question sussed out... (man I suck at this stuff!) Definitely more of a player than an engineer! My new issue is that after downloading the latest driver I'm not able to get any signal through to Garageband... my meters are registering... I can play and hear tracks already recorded... just cannot get new tracks recorded... I'll play around with the ux2 tonight and it's probably just a noob error... but I'll cry "HELP!" if I cannot work it out... Sorry just re-read your post... I do use podfarm... I'll check the +18 button later too... as well as the other stuff... Thanx again!

Noob issue... with UX2 mic pre's

Hello... I have been having trouble with my mic pre's clipping no matter what the setting or mic type... with/ without phantom power.... (using AT 40/40 and Rode NT5's/ Shure sm58.... etc.) Are the pre's just super sensitive? What could cause this? Even with mic gain all the way down it clips... (with fairly loud signal coming into the mic) Not sure if I'm explaining this well...
