Yep..happened to me twice, it was like the Back to the Future scene..from nowhere a loud screaming squeal, lucky I didn't have the phones in. Hasn't happened in a while, but scares the life when it does mate.

Mate, no disrespect but I have downloaded some great tones, and some that I didn't like. I presume that you have searched Artist name, Song name, style eg metal, funk etc. Which ones have you downloaded?

The best way is to use it as a search engine and see what comes up. Hopefully someone else can chip in. But I use it a search eg Queen, Brian May, Metallica etc etc. Good luck mate.

I know what you mean though, cos I asked similar question months ago. Btw you have to expand the search box too.

there is a pitch shifter changer on the HD, I tried it only for a laugh and sounded pretty convincing, some some chords sounded a bit strange. Sorry can't remember where I found it. But it was on this superb forum.

First two were total disaster, found footswitches too small after using GT-10 for years, nightnare scenario also downloaded loads of patches and listened, yeah sounded pretty good then on the night found out many had no foot volume assigned, some with no noisegate. And also using a Electrovoice ELX115 Active speaker which provided enough bass boom to pass for reggae dub bass! . You'd think that my settup together with gear wpould nail it, but I learned my lesson.

Luckily my best mate and singer in my band also happens to be a DJ. I told him about the ELX115P, he said it is one of the best around, and the boom must be from the pedal. So I religiously go on google and this site for tips on SAG, THUMP etec etc. No joy.

Last week I had enough and asked him to swap the ELX for Mackie Thump, I've been off all week and spent hours with Mackie, tweaking forever., and more importantly dumped the headphones and tweaking loud in my room But check this! The Mackie has EQ settings on it whereas the ELX despite being the better PA does not, so lowered Lo and Mioddle to nearly nothing.

Heart in mouth plugged in last night waiting for the usual ( great through headphone, crap live) and my joy was uncontrolled. I actually superb on most patches, only one which let me down was the US Sambora strat where the Dimarzio was intent on giving me too much fizz, ha ha despite sounding great at home.

I want to thank everyone on this superb board, people who contribute tips, patches and advice. Hey as we all know the tone search will continue until I'm in the box, but last night cheered me up!

Oh..the gig. My bro and mate were ******, too many people invading the stage, fights breaking out!! But the crowd told us they love it anyway...

Nah many thanks mate, honest truth any idea or help would do. I wear UK size 9 and sometimes hit another switch, but as you say probably more practice and rehearsal needed.

Okay I have searched and now have to put a wierd/stupid question. Does anyone have a problem with hitting the wrong switch or patch live or band situation? I've come from the GT-10 where the foot buttons were big, but on using HD500 instead of a big foot pad to change patch, the switches seem really small especially when trying to engage one when trying to sing and play guitar at the same time.

I've even got to the stage where I am questioning what footwear to use when using the HD.When I am playing a song and have to change a patch quickly, I have sometimes gone to hit FS1 and not engaged because of the stupid bar above it, so I miss the queue in the song.

I have to get used to it because I have recently bought Ax FX 2 which has the same type switch. Has anyone ever heard of something to put over switches to make them bigger like the Boss GT system, which sucks and does not even come close to the HD500 in my book, but I think

the Boss footswitch is even better.

Many thanks for any ideas or help, I am becoming an embarressment onstage, I even thought of moving all gain patches on HD500 to FS4 or away from that area.
