No speaker swap for the DT25 combo. You can't get the stock speaker out without taking the whole amp apart! I got the back panels off and power tubes out (and noticed the external bias points... nice touch), but that still wasn't enough. The compact size of the DT25 combo means that everything is crammed in there pretty well. I stopped short of taking out the transformer and decided to leave well enough alone.

I previously owned a DT50, which was too loud for me, and now have a DT25. It's great for home use IMO, and also loud enough for small gigs.

I see no need for an attenuator, though, at least not if you're using an HD500. Crank the amp master as high as you want, crank the channel volume as high as you want, and use the POD's mixer control to tame it all. You can cut the amp model signal down to -60dB.

Thanks for the input guys! I've been on vacation but should be able to get my hands on things tomorrow to crank it up and do some speaker swapping. I'll report back after I've formed an opinion.

So I have a new DT25 combo on the way which I'm pretty stoked about. Had a DT50 for and while I thought it sounded excellent, but it was just too big and loud for my needs. I know the stock speaker in these amps is a Celestion G12H90, which is custom-made for Line 6. I have another combo which I'll sell off to make room for the DT25, and that combo has a Celestion G12K100 in it, which I really love.

I have read that the H90 is most similar to the K100. Obviously I can do some A/B comparisons after the new amp gets here, but I was wondering if anyone out there has compared the two speakers and can give any insight on similarities and differences between the two.

Just FWIW, I play mostly Dimarzio humbuckers, and this patch rips and screams with pickups of all output levels, from PAF all the way up to D-Activators. As I said, it originated from Karl Houseknecht who I believe mostly plays Duncans. If you want to try his original version, you might be able to find it if you search around for "Stereo Mayhem".

What you're wishing for is a hybrid of all the footswitch modes that are available with the HD Bean and FBV Express, and that doesn't exist.

There are 3 footswitch modes when using the FBV Express with your Bean:

1. ABCD mode - Selects a patch within the current bank (A, B, C, or D).

2. FS 5-8 mode - Toggle blocks within the current patch according to their FS assignment. Only controls FS5 through FS8 since FS1 through FS4 are only valid if you're using the shortboard. A=FS5, B=FS6, and so on.

3. Looper mode - Controls looper functions. The ABCD footswitch functions correspond to the ABCD buttons on your POD.

These first two modes can be selected by holding down the VIEW button to enter Setup, then on screen 1 of setup, turn encoder knob 1. The looper mode engages when you turn on the looper.

Zap is right, if you need this functionality then you need the FBV Shortboard.

About posting the patch, I think you can at least zip it up and then post it as a .zip file (like nick did).

To elaborate, select the amp block and turn encoder knob 1 counter-clockwise until it says "AMP DISABLED". Then be sure to set the bypass volume (e.g. 100%, 50%, etc.) since you are bypassing the amp sim.
