Get one of these and put it in the FX loop. http://omnisonicvolumebox.com/ I have a Fender HRD, which is notorious for having two volume settings: ZERO, MELT YOUR FACE. This makes it manageable at a cost of $20. It is not an attenuator, just a pot to control the level fed from the preamp to the amp, which is why you put it in the FX loop.

LOL. Actually, I bought a Plexitone based on watching that video, and on some advice from Glenn DeLaunne. I'm really glad I did. It's fabulous. The only drawback to it is that it is capable of too much gain (anything beyond 5 and you're into a fuzzfest), and the knobs are very loose, so you need to have your trusty gig tape with you.

Might I suggest a good old fashioned pedal board, like this one, coupled with a modern tube amp (previously posted, I think by Karl), but if you're in a gear search, this aint bad:

Even if just recording, some of the more modern amps have a silent record mode now, like the Egnater series. You might get more than enough sounds this way. Or, you might not - your call.

All seriousness aside, one of my favorite American usages is "the reason is because...," which, in addition to being wrong, adds an unnecessary syllable to "the reason is that..."

I believe the texts still teach correct usage of the two. The problem is that the American educational system has been weakened to the point that students don't care to differentiate, nor are they penalized for doing so.

ebay has a full page of them. Lowest price I've seen is $1600. I think it will be difficult to get that if the new one is $2200.

I wonder what innovation the III will bring, but I'll probably stop watching the movie by "AXE - iX", in which, faced with increasing competition from actual amplifiers, the unit includes 12AX7, EL34, 6L6, KT66, 6550, KT88, EL84, and 12AU7 tubes and virtual circuitry, under exclusive license from Bruce Egnater. The unit will be especially innovative, in that it will weigh 500 lbs, and be designed exclusively for the bottom of the rack, since it will come with its own custom noiseless casters for ease of transport.
