Is there someone who knows how to bias an amp. I just found that the EL 84 in a DT25 needs +/-25 mV

after a week one of the EL-84 tubes (Electro-Harm) begins to make unwanted crackling noises. Warranty is 90 days I think. As the EH EL-84 are Russian, I like to change them with Sovtek EL-84 M (military spec) without trouble . I already had very bad experiences with tube rolling (eg JJ EL-84). I am in need for some reliable good EL 84's .

That is what I did but guess what... a guy from L6 told me to have some kind of a ground-lift adapter ..... The Line6 adapter for the M9 is a 2-pin connector ...

Even messing around with the earthing does NOT solve the problem....neither changing the interconnects....and in my opinion they do not know the solution at Line 6 either ...they only replied to me ....we heard of this problem....

I am sorry to say but guitar PU's have nothing to do with it. Connected or not, I still have the satellite radio in my M9. Arab, Russian, Polski ...I do not know! I use Cordial instrument cables as guitar cords. Never had this before. Is there a Line6 tech somewhere to tell me how to get rid of this nuissance?

Line6 Dt25 with or without POD HD (revisited)

With great interest I read the post concerning the fact that the DT25 is a great amp on its own but if you try to put a POD HD in front of it (L6 link) the sound from the amp suffers. I read all posts in the discussion 'No matter how I try...'. But what about my situation with a Dt25 and a POD HD 300 instead of a 500. How should I proceed to get those nice sounds? For the moment I use the Dt25 in combination with a M9 FX unit in front of the amp, but I also have a POD HD300. To me it seems the FX in the M9 are better quality than in the POD HD, but I could be mistaken.....

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Never had this before with my boss stuff. It is not THE amp but the

M9. I use best quality cables . Moving the device does not help.

yep , all very helpful info. In the meantime I changed the original speaker for a Jensen Tornado Blackbird (100 watt) neo. It seems to be quite a lot more detailed but I enhanced the headroom as well meaning you have to take care with the master volume : it goes louder on the same setting as the Celestion.

For the moment I am quite pleased.

Well what I did is : I had a spare Jensen Alnico (35w-music power 70) and replaced it to have a listen. I must admit it sounded very very nice, but due to the fact it was only rated at 35 watts I restored the Spider in its original form. There is a big difference in quality but I do not want to take the risk blowing the speaker and the poweramp. Pity!
