I realize this is a old thread, but I want to chime in here for future readers; just so they don't think Line 6 is overly complicated or something.

To easily turn on or turn off the associated effects, you only need to hook up an FBV Shortboard MkII. There are buttons for each effect, in addition to channel buttons.

For instance, you can control (on off) the stomp, modulation, delay, and / or the reverb of each bank. Now, to change amp models (clean red to crunch green), you would have to use multiple tone banks but that makes sense.

I don't think this would work with any amp that does not have sound banks.

Let me ask something here. Does this volume change happen after you've played, while you are playing? Or, does this happen when you turn ON the amp? (The amp will be really loud when you first turn on)

If it's the latter, this is what each of my amps have done, change presets or 'jiggle' the master volume.

In any case, make sure you connect to your computer, through a board, and get your updates.

I concur, I've read / learned that active pickups arent very friendly with Spiders.

I'm not sure, but I wanted to let you know, I also have the Spider IV 15 with an FBV Express MkII. I also have an HD150 MkII Half Stack.

The pedal board is practically, new. And when I say that, I mean it's practically new. You won't be able to tell the difference.

If you wanted to, I'd be willing to trade you for your Shortboard MkII. I'd rather have that for my half stack. Of course, we can discuss sweetening the deal considering the trade of two different pedal boards.

Buying the half stack will result in you receiving TWO boxes.

1. The head, the Spider IV HD150 MkII head.

2. The Line 6 412VS speaker cabinet.

Also, must be a shortboard mkii. The original shortboard will not work, if you are thinking about a shortboard. not sure about the original express, but the express mkii is fine as well.

I'm not 100% knowledgable about the 75 but I think it's close enough to the HD150 to allow me to chime in here, using the spider edit software of course.

If I wanted to organize my banks like you described, this is what I would try.

1. Make a detailed list of the banks and names, in the order I want them.

1A - Clean 1

1B - Blues 1

1C - Rock 1

1D - Thrash 1

2. Export all the banks to a folder. I think it's click to select and file | save as...

3. Going through each channel & bank, select it an the import / load the appropriate file - referring to your list made in step 1.

This will allow you to organize your banks as you described.
