i bought a usb to midi adapter for like $5 from amazon... http://www.amazon.com/MIDI-Cable-Converter-Music-Keyboard/dp/B003KXEDVQ/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1338319428&sr=8-3 connected the midi in and out to my live xt, plugged usb into computer and was able to use the midi interface rather than the usb.... so a $5 adaptor saved me a few hundred dollars buying a newer model...

Pod HD 500 realiability

Thinking of buying a floor Pod HD 500... just wondering if anyone has had any problems with it.... Reason im asking is ive owned the Pod XT Live floorboard and the usb interface went out so i cant update anything, then the whole pedal "went out" completely... I like line 6 products, i just dont want to invest in a HD500 if its going to end up like my XT experience where it would cost more to have it fixed than its worth....

Opinions please...

USB interface not working on pod xt live

been having problems with my usb interface on the pod not working... everywhere i turned advice was given to send it to a line 6 service center to be repaired.... im sure the repair cost would have cost more than i would have been able to sell it on ebay... what i did was went to amazon searched for usb to midi interface.. found one for $5 with $6 shipping... interface came in today, plugged it in and i can edit and save just like i did with the usb interface when it was working.... certain replys to my post said to take it to a line 6 service center... no one has told me that i could buy a usb/midi interface to do the same thing... so for $11 i was able to restore control and editing to my pod xt... and im a happy camper........who wants to roast some marshmellos......

I bought a $5 usb to midi interface from amazon.. came in today... pluged usb into computer, plugged midi cable to xt live... i can edit anything just like i did when the usb was working.... so you dont have to send your unit into a line 6 service center and be charged probably more than you can sell it for on ebay.... hope this helps people with the same problem i had....

thanks for the reply... is it possible to also program the pod xt using the edit software through the midi port??? i know theirs usb to midi adaptors that you can buy for computers and was hoping that i may have that option....

Thanks for the reply.. I have updated my computer spec profile.. I have tried all of the above... the ESN number is all zeroes as i later read that people were having problems... ive heard about the eeprom possibly being bad... i can get the chip and i have a surface mount soldering station that i have used.... is their any procedure to reprogramm the chip once its installed??? im at my wits end... i have many line 6 products: spider amp, variax 500, bean pod and the xt and have been extreamly satisfied with line 6 products... this is the only problem that i have had and need to get a solution so i can start back editing my effects/amps settings......

Im in the same boat.. pod xt usb not working .... esn all zeroes... what can i do to get it back?

pod xt live computer driver not working after updating monkey and updating driver

I have a pod xt live... a few months ago it was able to connect to the computer via usb and i could tweak my sounds and change effects, etc... the other day i opened monkey and it said to update the software so i did... now no matter what i try to do, the computer will not accept the driver... i click on the "update selection" when the driver is highlighted with the yellow triangle and it goes through fetching the driver... when it "says" the driver is installed and i open monkey again, where the driver should be listed says "no" in the installed column... not sure whats going on.. all i know is i hope i dont lose my add ons but i really need to get a driver to work so i can start to edit my sounds.... ive tried everything except the thing to make it work.... HELPPPPPPP

Hello... If anyone has an unscratched black or white Variax 300 pickguard they want to sell please let me know.. I am in the market for one. I have a 300 that I want to trade to get my 500 back that a friend of mine bought from me... The pickguard on the 300 is black and is pickedscratched up very much which it served its purpose... I guess really a white guard would work best but would take a black one as well if someone gutted their variax out to put their electronics into a strat or whatever guitar...
