pod farm feature request.

I'd like to request a feature for Pod farm which I think would be very useful. I'd like to check first how many of you share my opinion.

While I'm using dual tones in pod farm, I would like to be able to add one instance of the same effect to both channels.

For example instead of having 2 reverbs on both tones, we'd have only one for both. It would also be great if I could do this anywhere on the signal.

What do you guys think?

Ps: I did a quick sketch of what I mean. (it's a bit inaccurate though, since technically the mixer would come before the A+B effects on the way out .)

This is more of a suggestion than a question really.

There is no shortage of amps and effects when I use my KB37 and pod farm for guitars and bass, but sadly when it comes to vocals, it gets pretty limited, and most vocal effects aren't really worth much (De-esser is more of a space waster.) My suggestion/question is this. Will we ever get a vocals-specific pack?

Hey no prob!

There's one more thing you could try (in case you haven't yet):

change your power scheme to high performance, and edit the settings so that the min and max processor state are both set to 100 % (click on the battery>more power options>change plan settings>change advanced power settings>Processor Power Management.)

I maxed out all the power settings and use this scheme whenever I have to work on audio, video and graphics-intensive software.

There's a line 6 list of things you could do to improve performance which has some helpful tips as well (if you havent checked it out.)

Yep, one of 2.5's major features, besides psychological warfare, is hardware independence, which is awesome. And since you can use it as a plugin, you can reamp any audio through PF2.5, without needing a Line6 device connected to your PC.

PS: Vista is horrible for recording. It has so many frustrating issues that I think it should ship with a shrink. Thank God for 7! Upgrade (or downgrade) if you can.

One of the moderators usually opens a ticket for you. Usually if everything fails they would eventually. So you can write to Line6david (the mod who replied to your thread) and ask him to open a support ticket for you.

As for which version of podfarm to use, it's up to you.

If you're using a 32 bit OS, and only use line 6 hardware for guitar amping anyways, then you're not really missing out on much. Whereas if your OS is 64 bits and you want the hardware independance, then 2.51 is your BFF. Personally i've been waiting for these 2 "options" since GearBox!

Oh and i forgot to add about the drivers issue, with SlimDrivers, it's just a matter of clicking a button, and it does the work for you, it's also pretty small in memory usage.

and trust me I understand your concern about cluttering your computer, especially the "studio" one. But some things are worth it.

Get Slim Drivers! It saved my skin. I'm running win7x64 and was having issues with my outdated USB 3.0 drivers (which both the computer manufacturer and windows always said that the latest version was already installed.) Here's the link:

Hey I use Sonar X1 as a DAW as well.

I had issues with the plugin version of pod farm where it shows a lot of black spaces and "unidentified hovering objects" just floating around, like in some sort of hippie trip guitar amp soup. 2.51 seems to have cleared this out.

Try reinstalling everything (drivers, USB Firmware, Flash Memory, and podfarm ) It might work.

I'm not in it for the kudos, just trying to help out if I can.

You should try to open a support ticket directly with line 6 and give them more details about your issue.

But I really think you should get the driver updating software, -it's free- it solved a lot of my previous issues. (Until recently, I was in a constant battle with the KB37 and its software.)

Under Vista I never could get any MIDI recorded without the pitch wheel gaining consciousness and wobbling on its own. Under Win 7x64 I faced issues with the drivers and the audio dropouts, and that turned out to have nothing to do with the audio device, but just an outdated driver for the USB port. Anyways, I'm just pointing out what worked for me.

Hey,

Pops and crackles are sometimes related to your system and not the audio device. You could have a driver that's causing some latency. There's a tool called SlimDrivers, it looks for all your outdated drivers (forgeddabout the windows one, it's junk.) http://www.driverupdate.net/ I had a long standing issue with my USB 3.0 drivers that caused the USB drivers to be dropped, resulting in a very frustrating choppy sound whether I was playing live or recording. (And I have a monster of a system -core i7x8 cores, 16 GB RAM, ATI Radeon HD 5830 with 1GB mem.) So it's worth checking out.

My issues with PodFarm 2.5 were only in the plug in version and it was fixed with 2.51, this is why it might be something on your system.

Try doing a clean reinstall of your device (drivers, monkey, podfarm...)
