Re: New Bias Parameter Confusion - Not right?

I was checking the bias on my Tourmaster yesterday. It has 4 6L6's and bias should be set a 120mv + or - 10. The manual explained how that a reading of all the tubes together, that each tube should be working at about 30ma each. Maybe L6 somehow is working of one tube for the bias instead of multiple. Now that I've started writing this it's not sounding right at all, but I'm going to post it anyway.

I think it is a very interesting idea, especially being able to use whatever guitar you want. I wonder if the GK Pup yields better results that the Piezos.
Re: Bought A New Amp

Well I finally got some to play on the Tourmaster a little bit today, still haven't had the chance to really open it up though. That'll have to wait until I get to go jam with it. I has all channels set 20 watts. I 4CM'd the HD 500 to it for the first time. The HD changed tone a little, even with everything off. It wasn't a tone sucker though, it actually seemed to tighten it up a bit. I noticed the same results with the output set to Studio, Combo Poweramp and Stacked Poweramp. Keep in mind that this was my 1st time pairing these amp and I will say I need more time working with it before I consider anything conclusive. I was happy with the results anyway, it was just my observation. Making a custom patch for the Egnater was a snap. The amp has some great tones. The Classic setting on the clean channel are open and loose while the Modern setting is tighter and more focused. The overdrive channels kinda the same way as far as loose/tight, and different in that the Modern setting is beefier with more gain. The other thing I noticed with these channel was FIZZ. In the Classic setting, it wasn't bad and I could dial it out with the noise gate. I couldn't do anything with it in the Modern setting and I'm not sure why the noise gate didn't effect it at all.. I need to spend more time on it like I already said so maybe I'll be able to work it out or maybe not. It was alittle but not the end of the world. I really like the tones I'm getting so I'm very pleased with the Tourmaster. I also tried running straight to the back of the amp to use the HD amp models. I went in and took out the cab sims as I was using Stacked Poweramp out. Fester was right, I'm really happy going that route. Also I found a new appreciation for the quaility of the HD models, they are sounding a lot like a real amp. I went from the Tourmaster preamp, to an HD model without skipping a beat and not sounding like it wasn't an all tube amp. Anyway, that's all I have to say for now. I have finals next week and then I'm done with college until the fall term, so I'll have more time to play with it after next week. I haven't had time for anything lately but school.

Thanks, I think I'm going to like the amp just fine. I wish I could have kept my SV, but it had to go in order afford something else. I almost got a Mesa instead, but went this one for it's versatility and features. Plus the Road King and Roadsters were out of my budget. The Tourmaster looks pretty good with my Avatar cab too. My wife says she don't get it, the SV looked better and the Tourmaster looks like some old crap. I like that I'm going to go out there with a vintage Fendery looking amp and kill them with my metal tone! They'll be like WTF!
