I had to buy a separate phono amp, two adapters from female RCA to male 1/4", and ground the turntable to the computer. Select "Line Stereo". I get EXCELLENT sound out of my setup. I've used Audacity but am playing with Reaper, also Wavosaur is supposed to be good. I'm thinking of trialing ClickRepair as it looks to be great at cleaning up the audio.
