my laptop has 1 port for headphones and 1 for mic ... so do you think I could go out from the headphoned port and into the PP and hear the laptop sound through the PP while also hearing the guitar sound? Of course I would be using headphones on the PP.

Pocket Pod and Laptop Audio

Does anyone know how using the pocket pod that I can listen to sound files or youtube on my laptop, and hear my guitar through the pocket pod at the same time? I want to play along to youtube vidoes etc. I could do this through the pod HD500 but it also could act as a sound card and pass audio through the usb cable. Is there any way to accomplish this with the pocket pod?

Is there a way to switch back and forth from volume to wah using the Edit software on the PC without having to use the toe switch? I'm just sitting in front of my computer most of the time playing and would like to use the software to switch instead of the toe switch which is a major pain in the @#! to press down.

Is there a way to switch from volume control to wah (exp1 to exp2) through the Edit software without having to press the toe switch? I'm usually sitting down when I'm playing and it's nealy impossible to exert enough force to make that toe switch engage in the seated position. Typically I have my laptop sitting in front of me and could easily just use the Edit software to switch back and forth from volume to wah pedal.

Any thoughts?

Headphone Impedance

I'm thinking about getting some headphones for use with the HD500. One model I'm considering is the Beyerdynamic DT 770 series. It comes in 3 impedance rated models: 32, 250, or 600 ohm versions.

Any thoughts on which impedance version would sound the best with the HD500?

I'm happy to report that the hum problem has been solved! I replaced the power adapter and it cleared the hum right up. I didn't realize but the old power adapter was actually a 2 pin, figure of 8 type (no grounding) and 90 watts. So I switched to one that was a 3 prong, clover leaf type and rated at 65 watts. Once I did that everything was quiet! I actually think that the 3 prong 65 watt power adapter was the original type that came with this laptop. Somewhere along the line I switched power supplies and got that old 2 prong one. Anyway, I'm a happy camper now.

One thing I forgot to mention is that I have tried a "ground lift plug" which is a 3 pin to 2 pin converter, which is supposed to remove the ground. It didn't work for me. I'm not sure if this plug solution is basically the same thing as trying one of these 2 pin power supplies, but thought I would mention it anyway.

Hmm... Is that ground/lift switch just for xlr outputs or do you think it will also solve the USB connection?
