Pod XT Live Bender effect issues

I'm having issues with the 'bender' whammy effect on my pod xt live. I set the mix at 100%, Heel at 0 and toe at 12 or 24 (or whatever). The position reading on the next page shows o% before I start to use the expression pedal and 100% when my toe is fully down but when put my heel down to return the position to 0% it never will! It will only return to somwhere betwwen 8% and 4%. Try as I might I cannot get it to go from 100% back to 0% even when pushing down hard on the pedal with my hand! There is no obstruction that I can see that would stop the pedal returninmg to 0%. Is something wrong with my unit or is this a well know glitch? Any help would be really appreciated! Thanks.
