Pod HD Pro Connection Error

I just bought a Pod HD Pro from Zzound's B-Stock meaning it had been opened before and/or refurbished.

When trying to connect it via USB I get the error message from Monkey: "The Pod HD Pro you are connecting to is not valid Line6 Hardware".

I updated both Monkey and the USB drivers and tried again, still getting the same error message.

I also tried registering it on the Line6 website through my account and it tells me that the SN is wrong... "ESN could not be verified. Please confirm the supplied USN. ( Error: 523)"

Can anyone tell me why this might be happening and what I need to do? Thanks

UPDATE:

I got it to connect in line6 Monkey, but the ESN shows to be all zeros... I read somewhere that this means it has to be sent back?

Okay sweet. So both the X3 and HD Pro can send a processed and dry signal simultaneously. I am not too worried about reamping. So the only real difference between them is that the HD Pro is not as compatible with Pod Farm, but it doesn't really matter because the HD Pro itself has significantly better tone. Sorry if I'm just restating what was said I'm just trying to clarify before I buy!

Thanks that does help! What I am getting from this is I would need to upgrade my UX1 to something like a UX2 with more than 1 input, in order for that to work with the HD Pro. So I think I will go with the X3 Pro because I will be using it an equal amount in the studio and live performance.

So I need a separate interface, as in, have my HD Pro and my UX1 running at the same time? I thought the HD pro would replace the need for it

Hey guys,I was thinking of buying the pod HD pro until I learned that it cannot record a wet and dry signal simultaneously (which seems ridculous that feature would be on models like the ux1 but not this). I am just wondering if there is an alternative way to set up the HD pro to do this, or if I should go with the pod x3 pro instead.

I was thinking a way to do this would be to put podfarm plugins on the tracks before I record, so as I'm recording the dry signal only, I would be able to monitor and and playback the tracks as a processed signal? But even that sounds like a hassle. Would I be better off going with the x3 pro?

I don't have pro tools yet but I want to use it as my primary recording program. On the ux1 it says it is compatible with pro tools, but I have also seen that pro tools only works with mbox or m-powered interfaces. Does this mean I need two interfaces or what?? I don't want to buy pro tools only to find out I need to buy a new interface as well.

I read that when paired with the line6 cabinet, each output on the head is meant to power only two of the speakers, so does this mean that when paired with an 8ohm mono cab, the head is underpowering it, even though the left and right outputs both run 8ohms? and what kind of problem would that cause?

also, it's a 150 watt head, but when only using one speaker cable is it running 150 or 75 watts?

is it okay to run the spider III hd150 through a 4x12 cab that has only one mono 8 ohm input (specifically i have a basson, 300 watts)? i have been having a lot of problems with the head AND cabs blowing and i'm wondering if this is why
