Carvin gear is clearly far and above it's modest price tag. I have used Carvin instruments and equipment for over 25 years. The Bel Aire has a wonderfully warm, vintage tone while still maintaining sharp tones and crisp harmonics. The switching is silent and it is AMERICAN made. I love Carvin amps.

I usually ask someone else's input trying to craft specific tones, because it is quicker to tweek theirs. However, I am finding that if I am patient, I am usually more satisfied with my own. I research what the guitarist actually used in recording the particular tone that I am trying to emmulate. What amp, cabs, effects chain and lastly what type of guitar/pickups. Once I figure this out, it is just a matter of time in tweeking.

I mention all of this because I have found that many of the tones crafted by people on the L6 forums are pretty FAR off.

I don't use a Spider, but I thought that both Lincoln Brewster and Family Force 5 had their own presets on Spider IV. Are you looking for something in addition to these?

Sorry. I suppose I was a bit vague. I was kinda shootin' for a 'Jet City Woman' tone. That low 'clunk' that you can feel. I actually started working on it after I posted and I'm getting close, but not quite there.

Can anyone help with editing a good 'Chunky' tone. I'm looking for something along the lines of Eddie Jackson's tone. I am not the best at editing and some tips would some the 'Great Impatient One' alot of time.
