You may be getting conflicts with other devices, which is why no-one else is seeing the problem. My L6 drivers have had conflicts with my Logitech webcam in the past on XP. I would suggest disabling all devices you don't need through device manager and see if you can then install/run successfully. That is, for things you want to appear in, and be configured through, Control Panel. I just looked at my Control Panel on XP and there is a "Line 6 Audio - MIDI Devices" entry there so my guess is that it's used for that. I already had some Line 6 software installed for my X3L. Maybe that helped. You could try uninstalling Line 6 software, then installing this again.
